While I was in school, I waited tables at a Thai restaurant after school hours....During the summer rather than hang with friends, meet cute boys, and have fun I’d work 6 days a week 50-60 hours at $5 an hour totaling $300-$400 a week after tips. After that I had my own booth at a swapmeet. I sold cool shit and YES got made fun of by friends (even though I made more money than them). I always had a small business or a job of some sort starting at a very young age. I think I truly experienced my first burnout at the age of 16.
That’s why I’m immune to crying of the $15 per hour crowd.
