The Victory, How We Killed a Black Snake in my House by @estysam for @steemwomenclub

A very beautiful morning to us all. I hope we re doing well? Dear @steemians of @steemwomenclub, I will like to share with you how I found a live snake in my son's bedroom.

THE STORY
I, my husband and son came back from church few minutes after 6pm, we had a Bible study session. I needed to prepare dinner, and I also needed to prepare for an online class scheduled for 8 to 9 p.m. After all said and done, I attended the online class and put my son to sleep.

I entered the room and noticed that my husband mistakenly left a window open and mosquitoes were trooping in, in their numbers. The carpenter that was called to change the net was yet to come so, I laid my son on our bed and brought the net down.

At almost 9:30pm, I was done with my class so I took our mosquito bat to kill these mosquitoes. I'll put off the electric bulb and put on the bulb of the bat so as to attract the insects towards it.

I kept using the bat, entering all rooms in the house, from our room to the bathroom, to the kitchen and finally to my son's room. I entered my son's room, I put off the light as always and put on the bat's light, touching every single item. From the clothes hung on the wardrobe to the shoe rack and the curtains.

As ignorant as I was hoping to kill more mosquitoes hiding behind the curtain, I shook it with my bat hurriedly and noticed a black shinny thing.

I wasn't so sure of what I saw so I immediately went to the sitting room and told my husband that I had seen a snake. He asked me to go and get a long stick and a machet. "If it isn't a snake, no problem but if it is, it is better for me to be armed already waiting for it"he said.

I wanted to take my son outside for him to kill the snake but my husband insisted I stay in our room with him since he was already sleeping. I did that and it wasn't too long, he killed the snake and took it outside, called our neighbour to come and see what he found inside the room.

We later discovered the hole on the net from which the snake pursued a rat that usually come to eat the chicken feed and maybe, the snake didn't know how to go back from where it came.

Judging from how weak and flat its stomach was, it has been there for a long time because I remembered cleaning that room two weeks back.

It was my first time seeing a snake and a live one at that.
Thank God nobody was hurt.
