It feels awesome to participate in the Steem Women Club Contest #19 Local Clothing Promotion. I really appreciate @steemwomensclub For always keeping her members active and creative through an amazing contest like this, thank you because the contest will help all of us to learn about other women's local traditional attires and some special occasions it can be worn.

First of all I'm @goodybest from Nigeria, and I come from AKWA Ibom State in particular, where I hail from have lots of beautiful traditional dresses, and I will talk about our AKWA IBOM attire. You will find out what people in my state wear to a special events in their lives.

We have so many ethic groups in my state, we have the Eket, Ibibio, Efik, Annang, Oron, and Obolo. But we all get similar tradition when it comes to traditional wears.

IBIBIO/EFIK TRADITIONAL ATTIRES FOR MEN AND WOMEN:

We look incredible gorgeous right? We usually put in on this attire mainly on the traditional wedding day.
First of all the men attire consist of many things that makes them special, let's see some of those things from head to down.

• the beautiful beaded cap, AKWA IBOM Men used to wear this cap to a special/formal events like this.

• going down you can find a long piece of cloth tied around the the neck, it is called okpomkpomon . It's worn like a scarf and tied several times in knots or with other fabric
• the legs covered with the traditional wrapper called usobo. It is long shinny cloth is wrapped around the waist and tied at the hip.

The cloth will not be complete without

• the beaded shoes and the Working stick.

The woman traditional wedding dresses consist of gele it is the head gear and it's our tradition that a bride must tied it, and wear lace blouse with an Indian wrapper, accompanied with luxurious bids and look really nice

Traditional wedding dresses are very costly, it will cost about 200steems to acquire it

ANKARA FABRICS:

Absolutely stunning right?
This fabric can be used for dresses like long gown, skirt and blouses etc.

Ankara dresses cost 28steems

Some of them are sewn for formal occasions.

LACES:

Women used to wear laces to a formal and a very special events and it used to look good on us

It cost 28steems to make men senator dresses, and it can be worn to anywhere.

As you can see we like dressing up for special events, wearing most beautiful traditional attire.
