Hello Ladies,

Today I'm going to write about the traditional dress we use for our weddings. It is like a Saree but different in style and how we drape it. I hope you all will like it and thank you @svm038 and @steemwomensclub for bringing us this beautiful contest. I have seen some amazing designs and cultural dresses that I've never seen before.

The Kandyan Saree is used by many Sinhalese women in Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka, there are many communities and the way we dress is different occasionally. The name Kandyan comes from the famous city in Sri Lanka Kandy, which was the last known kingdom for Queens and Kings. So, this dress represents more elegance and grace when we dress it.

I have worn it for my wedding date. The Saree was made from the net fabric material and worked with pearl and stones. It looked elegant with all the traditional jewellery. The cost of the saree was about Rs. 20,000/- in 2014. Now the prices depend according on how heavy the work is and the material. I've chosen the budget price for my saree, but there are sarees which cost more than Rs. 100,000/-

Next, I will show you some heavy saree work that I wore for a saree dressing competition, this was taken in 2016. The material of this Kandyan saree is lace and worked with pearl.

Finally, as I'm a beautician now I dress for the Kandyan brides and this is one my latest bride. The Kandyan Saree was made with cut work material and worked with pearl and stones. The price of this saree is quite expensive.

These are some of the other saree designs I have draped to some beautiful clients. These design are not glamorous or heavy as the Bridal dressing sarees. Usually for functions and special occasions these type of sarees draped. The prices are vary from Rs. 1000 to 10,000/- The popular materials are Silk, Cotton, Organza & Georgette.
