Be kind to everything that lives.
Rivers, mountains, trees, babbling creeks, and growing green gardens! If you spend time in them, you've mayhap noticed that you feel happier out there than in here, which I believe rings true to most, if not all.
There's really a whole lot of good things that nature has to human. So, it's just so justifyingly right to give kindness back to nature in ways we all know. Taking care of them is just one great way.
It was just so gratifying to think that amidst the threat of the pandemic that the whole world's facing now, the teachers of Mactan National High School where I'm working, still willingly took part in the Coastal Cleanup this first quarter of the year.
The Coastal Cleanup drive happens every year. And, blessed I am to have never skipped a year participating in this one-of-a-kind activity. And just like others, there were a lot of preparations made.
* * *
We arrived at the assembly area early at 6:00 in the morning, proceeded to our assigned area then, and started the cleaning. We brought with us trash bags, gloves, and a sanitary kit.
Our area of assignment is very near a residential area where sadly, we usually expect a ton of residential trashes.
On a lighter note, the people living nearby were made to participate in the cleanup, which for me was the best move of our Local Governing Unit. It was a great opportunity to let the people in there practice keeping their own trashes, and never messed up with the coastal area again.
We finished the cleanup at around 9:00 in the morning. My stomach already growled as I hadn't taken my breakfast yet for my excitement to participate in this quarter's Coastal Cleanup Drive. Indeed, it was a very fruitful day. The sweat of the day's work was so sweet that I would always cherish it. I believe this is not the end.
Let's just continue to work hand in hand to achieve the difference we want to make, big or small. Now, allow me to leave you this, let the kindness and goodness you experience not stop with you, sprinkle it, and. . .
PAY IT FORWARD!
