INTRODUCTION

Today I am going to teach you all the simple way of producing liquid soap at home.

WHAT IS LIQUID SOAP AND WHAT IS IT USE FOR

Liquid soap is a very popular product now in every home. So Many people use it for domestic purposes at home to wash clothes and kitchen utensils; if you go to restaurants and eateries they are not left out too. What really the demand for liquid soap to be very high is because it is easier and cheaper to use. And if you check you will notice that a lot of people now venturing into the business. The capital involved in production is usually very low Which any one can afford.

I will careful write out the guide for those who may want to produce liquid soap at home, though there are so many ways of producing liquid soap but I will use my own method for the production.

If you wish to use it as business you can as well start it and make a lot of money for yourself.

CHEMICALS NEEDED, DEFINITION AND MEASUREMENTS

The Chemicals needed to produce liquid soaps are not scares; you can find them market.
The chemicals I am going to list out is for the production of 20 litres of liquid soap. But incase you want to produce less quantity you can ask the vendors that sells the chemicals for advice.

SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate)	1/8kg
Sulphonic Acid	1 ½ Ltr
STPP	1/16Kg
Texapon	1/8kg
Foam Booster	1/6 Ltr
Formalin	10Cl
Colour (As desired)
Glycerine (Optional)
Perfume (As desired)
Vitamin E (Optional)

METHOD AND FUNCTIONS OF CHEMICALS USED FOR LIQUID SOAP PRODUCTION

(Water)
Water:
Water is the main ingredient needed for the production we use it to dissolve the various ingredients. It is very important in the production of liquid soap.

(Nitrosol)

Nitrosol or Antisol:

This serves as one of the thickener in the production of liquid soap. It is white in colour and it has the texture of powdered milk. Note if you are using Nitrosol dissolve immediately in water, while Antisol takes some time to dissolve in water.

(Custic soda)

It is a white crystalline substance that looks much like a granulated sugar. It is very active when dissolved in water and can be corrosive if in contact with the skin. It is the main ingredient in the production of soap. This is the stain or dirt removing agent in the liquid soap, you can sock it for three days before using it or you can use it immediately.

Soda Ash (Sodium carbonate):

Soda Ash

This is also white in colour but with many coarse grains, it serves to reduce the concentration of the Caustic Soda which is very dengerous to the skin. It helps to neutralize it effects.

SLS the full meaning of it is (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate):

SLS

This looks like rice grains and it’s white in colour too. It is the main active foaming agent that is a must use if you want your liquid soap to be very foaming.

(Texapon:)

Texapon

Taxapon is in paste form and a jelly substance, it is also one of the foaming agent and also serve as a booster too. Texapon and sls did almost the same work.

(Sulphonic Acid)

Sulphonic Acid

This is black looking liquid substance. It's also serve as a booster and also a foaming agent.

STPP (Sodium Tripolyphosphate):

STPP

The full meaning of STPP is a (sodium salt of triphosphoric acid). It Is a white crystal powder and looks very much like table salt. It is a very strong cleaning agent and it also helps the SLS to work very well and also make neutral in colour after production.

METHOD OF PRODUCTION

• Firstly you dissolve the Caustic Soda before you start your production with a litre of water for like 24 hours or less for it to dissolve, please all chemicals should be out of reach of children, custic soda is very dengerous to the skin. And also do the same with soda ash

*Dissolve the Nitrosol with 18 litres of water, in a big mixing bowl before you start your production.

It will look like a ‘starchy solution’

• Then dissolve the SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) in 1 litre of water to produce a neutral solution before production; you have to do this before you start your production, if you want it dissolve properly.

• At this point dissolve the STPP (Sodium Tripolyphosphate) in 1 litre of water before you start your production and keep aside too.

• It is time to Mix the Texapon and Sulphonic Acid together. Mix them properly and use two litres of water.

• Stir it gently until the mixture is well dissolved.

• Dissolve the colour with a small quantity of water and keep it aside, note it should be water soluble.
• At this point you gradually add your already dissolved mixture of Texapon and Sulponic Acid gentle into the mixing bowl containing dissolved Nitrosol. Stir it very well and gently until the mixture becomes very smooth. You really have to be patience here.

• Add your dissolved Caustic Soda into the mixing bowl above and stir very well.
• Add your dissolved Soda Ash next and stir very well until it mixed evenly.
• Then, add your dissolve STPP and stir properly
• Add your Dissolved SLS and stir evenly.
• Add Foaming Booster to make it foam very well.

• Then add your Formalin and keep stirring then add your vitamins, Colour, Glycerine and Perfume and stir it until is properly mixed.
• It is time for you add your water gradually little by little and please watch as you add the water so as to maintain the thickness.
  At this point your production is ready to be used.

CONCLUSION

If you follow the steps you will be able to make your own production. Note ; when buying your chemicals tell the seller to label it for you.
