A very good morning to all the beautiful souls out there! Here I am with the first diary game for this year. Better late than never they say. I thought I’d share the January 1st traditions with you guys that we arranged and participated actively with our family members.
On the first day of the year, we boil fresh milk in a new clay pot. That symbolizes prosperity and growth. Every house in Sri Lanka does this as a tradition.
After we add the milk, we lit the clay pot.
Then we wait till the milk overflows. And that’s how we start off our year with much more pride and joy. This emphasizes succession throughout the year.
My mother had made a small flower arrangement to keep near Buddha statues where we pray normally.
Then let me show our first breakfast table for the year. We make milk rice as a traditional food.
Now here we go, the gifts we got from my sisters’ cute little family for the new year. Aren’t these mugs adorable?
In the evening we go to the temple. This is one of the nearest temples from our house.
Thank you for visiting my post. ❤️
