I had not visited my farm for a long time ever since the corn π½π½π½ finished from the farm. Nothing to rush for. It was only the cassava and perhaps the pumpkin leaf that is almost finished. I and my family decided to visit. We are steemit family and our Usernames are @benton3 @madilyn02 @fortwis09 @wizzyboy3 and me, @ngoenyi. You can see what I mean.
Our intention was to get out the first fruit of cassava and use. On getting to the farm, I also discovered that the pumpkin leaf πΏπΏπΏ needs to be cut as they have grown. That was what I did first. Here they are
After that, we checked on the coconut we planted and noticed that it was no longer alive. On a closer look, wow, termite had eaten it and it just came out dead on its own. Oh my goodness, it was very painful when I saw that. I know the efforts the lady friend that assisted us to plant it took. She really tried to make sure she put all the necessary things, both stone, San from else where and all that. Still, the coconut is dead. Here are some pictures
Next was the cassava. It is actually the first time we are uprooting it after it was planted 7 months ago. We wanted to check if it has matured. Well, @benton3 started uprooting it as if he was trying to harvest yam. Yes, that was how he did it such that, if it has not matured,he can still cover it with sand and it will continue to grow.
Most of them are still not matured but we were able to get few, though not fully matured. See the ones we got
The next thing we deed was to peel the cassava there in the farm. We want to use it for "tapioca". There are different names that we call it according to different dialects. Some people call it editaiwa, some call it eberebe jiakpu, while some still call it iwa aki. But iditaiwa is what it is called in my current city of residence, Uyo but I am not sure if the spelling is correct. See the pictures below as everyone is involved, peeling the Cassava

On getting home, the cassava was washed thoroughly and then cooked for about 15 to 20 minutes. And then sliced
After cooking it and slicing, I washed it about 2 to 3 times, then soak in in deep water over night. Then I washed again in the morning. The tapioca is ready to be consumed. Have you eaten it before?, Try it out. You can use coconut or groundnut to enjoy it on a hot afternoon. You can also make portage of it and enjoy.
On our way back from farm, I noticed the cloud was very bright, with a combination of blue and white. Just take a look
See how beautiful it looks. I couldn't pass by
That was how I wrapped up my day. I am a proud farmer. I have really benefited from the farm. As for the cassava, I will allow them to mature more before going back to harvest a second time. It has to get to at least, one year.
As for the coconut, I will not plant it again. A neighbor said that it happened to him and that coconut doesn't survive there and looking around, I can't find any one.
As for the pumpkin leaf, they are almost gone. But I can still get some from the farm if I should go again.
See you soon.
