My Curly Hair Routine

Today I want to tell you about my hair care routine. Before I move on to my routine, I would like to briefly tell my curly hair story. In my teens and early twenties, I hated my frizzy hair. I was constantly straightening it with a hair straightener and ruining my hair. I just learned to use curly hair and I can say that I have made peace with my hair.

I tried to learn the use of curly hair because I accepted that I could not change my innate feature and was sorry for the hours I spent straightening my hair every day. In this process, I spent a lot of time and money. I finally got the hair I wanted. In fact, there is no need to spend that much money.Keeping it simple is perhaps the secret. If there are curly steemians among us, I would like to talk about my own routine to give them an idea.

One of the most common methods of curly hair care is the "curly girl method". I try to apply this method as much as I can, but it is very difficult to find products suitable for this method in Turkey.

One of the most important rules in this method is not to apply heat to the hair. Since I started this method, I have not straightened my hair with a few exceptions.

In shampoos, it is recommended to use sulphate-free shampoo. Sulfate is actually a detergent and dries out dry curly hair even more. Curly hair needs moisture the most, so sulfate-free shampoos dry the hair less. Since the variety of sulfate-free shampoos has increased in Turkey recently, I choose my shampoos from sulfate-free ones. Unfortunately, these shampoos are a bit expensive compared to market shampoos.

I prefer conditioners that are silicone-free. The reason for this is that since we use the shampoo without sulfates, it is difficult to remove the silicone from the hair.

I wash my hair with a sulfate-containing shampoo once a week or every other week. In this way, if there is any silicone, etc. accumulated in the hair, it is freed from them.

I style my hair with hair care oil and leave in conditioner after I get out of the shower. In the summer, I do not dry my hair, in the winter I dry it with the help of vigo on low heat.It is preferable that the conditioner does not contain silicone. However, I have difficulty in finding these products in Turkey. That's why the cream I use contains silicone.
