God and Family

In less than a month we will be two years in marriage and I'm so excited about it, it's been God all the way and I don't take God's blessing for granted. Family is an important aspect in our society, if we can get it right with family then we will have a better society we can be proud of.

Our Story

When I met my husband, he was staying in all this modern mud house, I always feel uncomfortable using the restroom because it was a public rest room, there was a lot of reason I could have said no, I was a lady living in the city and marring my husband would mean i will have to relocated to a rural environment compare to what I'm used to but all that didn't stop me because I saw a man with vision, plans and goals and I know it's won't be like that forever.

Two years down the line and God has been faithful, it's been two years of Gods blessing, The story has changed and we are better than we used to be, to every single lady out there I would advice that you always go for a man with vision and that has the fear of God, these two things are paramount when it comes to marriage, it not like we don't have our own issues but a man that fears the Lord will always treat you right.

As you lay your bed

Marriage is hard work, you make continuous effort to make it work, no matter how great your marriage is don't ever take it for granted, always nurture it. It's like the way you take care of your garden. Great marriages don't just happen, people that are involved decide to work on it. My husband is not perfect neither am I but we choice to always treat each other with respect and understanding. Marriage is about patience and understanding with the help of God.

Whatever you put in your marriage is what you get, as the popular saying goes, as you lay your bed so you lie on it.

Things that has make our marriage work

• God: you can't take God out of the equation, he's the beginning and the end. He created marriage so you need Him to direct your path to make marriage work. God had been the source of my marriage since day one.

• communication: There is nothing I can't discuss with my husband, he's my best friend and I tell him everything no matter how difficult it is. The way you communicate matters a lot. My husband is used to raising his voice when he's angry, instead of reacting I always choose to ignore him those periods and as the time goes by, he understood my reaction and worked on himself, now he barely raise his voice when he's angry. No matter the situation I strongly believe we can all communicate it in a polite manner if we choose to.

• patience and understanding: when you can bring yourself to understand someone, then you can be patience with such person. I am not perfect neither is my spouse but if I choose to understand him, I will be patience with his shortcomings.
