How to make an ankara head band

Good morning beautiful steemwomen am going to show you the procedures of making an ankara headband.

To make an ankara head band you need to have the following items

1.head band
2.ankara
3.A cardboard or carton
4.scissor
5.hand needle
6.thread
7.gum or glue

the normal head band.

Procedures
1.Measure the normal head band with a tape,you had 1inch to whatever you had,mine was 14inches and i added 1inch making it 15inches.
2.measure 15inches on the card board or carton cut out the base from the cardboard or cartoon

3.place the base on the ankara material to cut it out,do not cut the exact measurements with the base while cutting keep half inch in order to cover the edge of the base

4.Fold the material into two measure the length 30inches and the width 7inches depending on the style of the ankara head band and cut it in form of a boat shape .
5.put paper gum on one part of the material iron the paper gum to stick and to make the material firm.

6.sow it round using hand needle and thread or sowing machine then keep a little space to turn it out.

7.cover up the the base with its material by using gum so that it will stick.

8.then start sowing the boat like material on the base while sowing make such you gather it while sowing to make the ruffles show.

9.when you are done finally you will use a gum to stick it to the head band and this becomes your ankara headband.

Your ankara head band is ready,it can be worn with english wears or with ankara dresses.
