About my Dad

Good morning dear friends I remain your humble friend starrchris, I am here to tell about a big legend and super hero in my life. My Dad names are Okereke Louis Obi, he was Born in a then remote Eastern local government known , Orumba North LGA, Nigeria. He is the child and also the first son of a local engineer (individuals who build houses and run building engineering related activities, with out certificate because they weren't taught in schools, instead the learn from experienced engineers).

My dad really made many awesome impacts in my life. He always told me his success story which always inspires me to keep moving forward no matter the condition. “He always says it is not over until it is over”. He always tells me how he told his father that he wants to go and start a business to support my grandfather in training his remaining six (6) siblings, in the university. So he followed one of his successful but late uncle to Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.

So he initially started selling tyes, but it didn't fetch him as much money as he expected so he kept searching for awesome business, he even worked for his uncle in his pharmacy, he was in charge of all the buys and sells in the pharmacy but he didn't like the business. He kept thinking for that unique step that would fetch him serious money. While he was working waiting for the key he worked in different firm and sent some percentage of salaries home for their upkeep.

It was on a faithful day hit an awesome idea cane to his mind to his mind that he could be a national importer, who deal on electric utensils and kitchen utensils. So he took that bold step and traveled to an unknown land in Lagos State, there found an international importer who deals on electrical and cooking material like non-stick pots and pans, fancy lamp holder, pretty standing light, iron, washing machine, flat screen television and even treadmills.

6 months after his operation

He started focusing on importing goods from Lagos State,Nigeria which is cheaper to that Jos,Plateau State Nigeria. That was where he hit the jackpot and now he own two awesome cars, a 6 bedroom twin flat and so many more investment and properties he got all by he self.

Memories

When i was younger he always flogged me whenever i do things wrongly. And when i was in secondary school i would always call him as soon as i am broke and he always sent me money to take care of my self. He couldn't bear seeing and my siblings suffer or hunger. When i was younger every Sunday he would take me my mother and my siblings for outing in a big restaurant known as "Mr Biggs" or something we would go to the wildlife pack to watch wild animals of different kind. In one of our visit to the wildlife pack, something happened one of the apes was angry and it took a left over watermelon 🍉 and trowed the water melon at me, but my dad blocked the water melon from hitting me and the watermelon stained he's trousers, wasn't that romantic. I also remembered when i was 12 years old, i went on a small walk with my cousins who were my age grade. I remember it was on during Christmas celebration, so as we were walking we accidentally came out at the wrong hour because they were lots of masquerades parading the area chasing women and children.

Although it was fun but one of the masquerades saw us and started chasing us, out of fear we started running home, i just t remembered us with our shot legs trying to out run the big masquerade. So finally getting home i saw my father from afar and i shouted for his help and he came to plead on our behalf as soon as he held me shout. I also remembered during Christmas that after church service that all the kids, that's my cousins prefer entering my dad car because he always buy goodies for any child in his car. They were r so many awesome moment with my dad.

His Importance

All this joy was on hold as my dad started experiencing too much pain in his right leg, this started 8 years ago. The pain kept on increasing for years till the year 2017, the doctors said the only way to save my dad life was to amputate my father right feet. It was a difficult moment for the family because he was the main breadwinner of the family and we do want to lose his lovely life to sickness or operation.

Another challenge that was faced was that my the doctors charged too much money for the operation and creation of an artificial leg. Before the 3years before the operation, my dad was given insulin injection almost every day to help heal his leg. During that 3 years he couldn't go for his normal business trips anymore, causing his business to fall slowly. Because of that generation of funds were so difficult for my mom who also has business which was not as massive as that of my dad. The worst fact was that my mom business was depending on my father business trip, so thing were very tough for every one. But at this condition my father never let us hunger for a day. One other thing was that, i also got admission into the university, same 2017. Joining my sister in the university was like a magic but God used my both parents to find means to pay all my needs in school.

Conclusion

All i have to say is thank you God for today my dad survived the pain and surgery , although he is now using the local made artificial leg. I am hoping to make large money to buy him a better and a lighter one artificial leg. Although life has started moving in a better direction as my sis already married with her husband abroad and If not off my naughty government, i would be a graduate in computer science and informatics. It's really been God hand work for giving me such a strong, lovely and hardworking father. Love you Dad.

Note : I decided to talk about my dad not because i don't love my mom, but because the value of fathers are now ignored by many people now.

I am inviting @frankenstein54, @dybastos, @ladyofpolicy, @anyiglobal, @ijelady to participate in this program .
Thank you for going through.

It will be more nice if you apply text-justify in your post.

Ok, i just did that, thak you ma for going through the post.

Unlike some people, other are fortunate to have the love of a father.

We in the society sometimes undermine the love of our fathers because we think they are mean to us and our mothers are the complete opposite. But instead they love us as much as our mothers do .

Its really nice to have your father as a hero and to also have him as a role model😀.

Your fathers story has inspired me a lot too and with hardwork and determination we will all get there.

Thank you.

I am glad he also inspires you, thank you for going through.

You're truly like your father. Your dad is a super hero, please take good care of him.
