Greetings everyone.

Today my content is going to be based on “Women Empowerment”. As females we are not given equal opportunity to take part in decision making, managing the affairs of a nation, and so many things which should not have been so. Globally, we can all testify that women have fewer chances for economic participation than men, less access to education, less access to politics and a greater health and safety risks.

Women empowerment simply refers to promoting women sense of self worth, their skill to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others.

Proving the rights of women and granting them chances to reach their full potential is crucial not only for getting gender equality but also for meeting a wide range of international development goals. The female child who has been empowered contribute much to the health and productivity of their families, communities, and nations, building a ripple effect that benefits everyone.

Gender simply describes the socially constructed roles and responsibilities for men and women. Gender equality also refers to the equal opportunities and power for education, personal development and financial independence that both men and women have. Women empowerment is a crucial part of attaining gender equality.

Some of these includes increasing a woman’s sense of self worth, her access to chances and resources, her power and control over her own self within or outside the home and her ability to effect change in any way. Yet still gender issues doesn’t deal with women only but also deals with the relationship between men and women.

Ways You Can Follow To Empower A Woman

Below are some of the ways you can follow or practice to make a big difference in the lives of daughters, sister, mother, and wives across the world.

Let The Woman In Your Life Know That You Care: One of the ways you can help empower a woman is to let her understand that you care about her. This should start right in your home, workplace and within your community. Write a letter to that female teacher who encouraged you years back, inform your very own sister, daughter or mother how much they mean to you or how much you appreciate them.

Give A Helping Hand To Women In Crisis: In this part of the world (Africa), millions of girls are exposed to abuse, trafficking, child marriage etc. Your support will be valued when it goes where it is needed most. To help empower these female child from all these crisis, protecting them by offering local staff to them for training, giving them education, counseling them and giving them good medical care will help end the all these crisis and gender based violence.

Invest In Small Scale Business Owners: Another way to help empower a woman is to try connecting with hardworking female entrepreneurs who are waiting to realize their dream of establishing a successful business by giving out loans to them. They just need a little start up capital to make their dreams come true.

Be A Mentor: This is another excellent way of empowering women. And the question here is, would you like to assist someone develop better self esteem, overcome domestic violence, create their own business? These simply depends on your experiences and where you like to give it back. Some of our local communities have women’s networking group which can serve as a path way of building a mentoring relationship. You can give advice to them informally. Search for situations where you can help boost someone’s confidence and always be there to listen to them.

When we consider education for instance, girls are the leading number of school drop outs. Approximately more than half of the number of girls in the developing world do not have access to education. Generally, families with little resources who can’t afford the school fees and uniforms of their children will prioritize education for the male child to that of the female child all because of the female child is subjected to household chores like carrying water, washing of clothes etc. Meanwhile, promoting girl education yields the highest return on investment in the developing world. A girl who is educated is more likely to raise a smaller family, have healthier kids, and also send her own kids to school. She has a greater chance to earn an income and to engage in political processes.

We should prioritize women and give them the needed respect. Every woman deserves love and respect and through women empowerment all these will be fulfilled. Again, by empowering women, your are lifting up the entire community and nation as well.

Hope you enjoyed reading through my post, don’t forget to leave a comment in the comment box on your opinion about how the female child has been underrated and subjected to all these abuses.

This post of yours is indeed timely, you know ladies are usually looked down upon, especially in my country Nigeria.

I honestly wish their view of ladies will change and they can come to love and respect ladies as they ought to.

I would appreciate it if you can live a review on my contest post

Thanks for your review.

Oh! How I love this type of posts, women are the backbone of every economy.

Fortunately I'm a mother of many boys but I strongly advocate for women empowerment and by so doing every girl should have access the quality Education and those who love different trade should be encouraged to learn those skills

Every empowered woman reduces the unemployment and domestic violence cases in our society because she'll be busy working and taking care of herself
Thanks for sharing

Yh it is true that women are the backbone of every economy and we need to respect that and give them equal opportunities as well. It has always been a norm in this part of the world (African) where females are always seen to be at home carrying out house chores and given limited time to education and developing their skills.

I’m glad you read through and we stand together as females to fight for our rights.

You're welcome

A beautiful piece.
A popular saying in my place says

When you educate or empower a woman, you did to the whole community.

Women are great if you care and invest in them which will never be a waste.
