Philippines is a major tourist destination known for our beautiful long shoreline of glittering white sands, tempting blue sea, 5-star hotels and of course the happy and hospitable Filipinos. I am a Filipino residing in one of the cities in the Philippines called Lapu-Lapu City - "The Historic Resort City".
This is where the historic "Battle of Mactan" took place. In this modern city, tourism and fishing is one of the source of living for most of the residents.
Fresh catch of fishes, shrimps, crabs and many other marine resources are always available to us and we are forever grateful of this blessing from Mother Nature.
But a mutual relationship should exist between us and nature - we cannot just take whatever nature is giving to us, we have a duty to give back. As a fish vendor during my elementary school and high school years, I witnessed a decline of fish supplies in the market and how the prices of fish goes up over time.
When given a chance to sign up to be part of a Mangrove Reforestation project, I joined the team with enthusiasm and excitement knowing that mangroves provide nesting and breeding habitat for fish and other marine wildlife. I believe this effort can help bring back the fish population. We stormed the little fishing village in Cordova, Cebu, Philippines. This is one of the sites of Mangrove Reforestation efforts.
Briefly after arriving the place, we are given a quick orientation on the proper planting of the mangrove seedlings.
We then trekked through the muddy sand towards the assigned spot where we will be planting our seedlings.
Navigating through the mud and constant bending to plant our seedlings are just some of the struggles of this activity but I have no regret at all and will be coming back for more.

A total of over a thousand seedlings were planted that day and I am very happy and excited for these little mangrove seedlings to grow thick and strong. But we were warned that due to the changing tides and other natural factors, only about a fraction of these seedlings may survive.
I am very happy and proud to be part of the team dedicated to preserve our natural resources for the future generation. May we always be blessed with a bountiful harvest and a strength to continue our efforts to save Mother Earth.

So wonderful to see you helping nature! When I go on a walk in the forests, I pick up trash. One day, an old man saw me helping mother earth and he was so touched, that he decided to help me. I shared such a wonderful moment with him and we had some really deep conversations. Helping mother earth sometimes makes others do the same and so we can empower each other to create a better world. Just like you did here!💖
Much love and keep on healing nature 💮

Thank you. ☺️
Indeed @endorphoenix, helping and giving back to mother is truly wonderful thing to do. And good job also to your deed. I firmly believe that great things, starts at small beginnings. So let's continue to give back and take good care of our Mother Nature, since it is the only planet we could live. 😉 Keep safe always!
