For one of my projects during this season of the Learning Challenge I thought of creating the complete brand manual for #techclub, and that not only we but other people can also take advantage of these designs to make a technology club well distinguished. In this first part of the project we are going to design what the club logo is.
All these resources will be available for free and to be reused in a github repository, they will be designed in free SVG format using the open source program InkScape.
Para uno de mis proyectos durante esta temporada del Desafío de Aprendizaje, pensé en crear el manual de marca completo para #techclub, y que no solo nosotros, sino otras personas también podemos aprovechar estos diseños para hacer un club de tecnología bien distinguido. En esta primera parte del proyecto vamos a diseñar cuál es el logotipo del club.
Todos estos recursos estarán disponibles de forma gratuita y para ser reutilizados en un repositorio de github, se diseñarán en formato SVG gratuito utilizando el programa de código abierto InkScape.
Creative process
There is a phrase that says that creative people do not seek to invent something new, but work on something that has already been created and improve it or adapt it to their needs. And following this philosophy the first thing I did to develop the logo was to look for inspiration, one of my teachers said that the first thing you should do is look for references of something already created mainly on platforms such as Pinterest or Behance, although starting with Google is not a bad idea either.
Hay una frase que dice que las personas creativas no buscan inventar algo nuevo, sino que trabajan en algo que ya se ha creado y lo mejoran o lo adaptan a sus necesidades. Y siguiendo esta filosofía, lo primero que hice para desarrollar el logotipo fue buscar inspiración, uno de mis profesores dijo que lo primero que deberías hacer es buscar referencias de algo ya creado principalmente en plataformas como Pinterest o Behance, aunque empezar con Google tampoco es una mala idea.

Once I took several ideas and saw more or less the things that I liked and that worked I began to build a logo that met the following requirements:
- Simple and memorable symbol.
- Symbol with square structure or in blocks to reference the Blockchain.
- Color that symbolizes technology and Steemit.
Following these requirements I started by drawing a rectangle.
Una vez que tomé varias ideas y vi más o menos las cosas que me gustaban y que funcionaban, comencé a construir un logotipo que cumplía con los siguientes requisitos:
- Símbolo simple y memorable.
- Símbolo con estructura cuadrada o en bloques para hacer referencia a la cadena de bloques.
- Color que simboliza la tecnología y Steemit.
Siguiendo estos requisitos, comencé dibujando un rectángulo.

I used a green similar to Steemit's but darker to give a more metallic feeling. I started by duplicating this rectangle and placing it in different positions to write the initials of TechClub (TC).
Usé un verde similar al de Steemit, pero más oscuro para dar una sensación más metálica. Empecé duplicando este rectángulo y colocándolo en diferentes posiciones para escribir las iniciales de TechClub (TC).

First I managed to build a T with two rectangles, one vertical and one horizontal and the two aligned centered horizontally and upwards vertically.
Primero logré construir una T con dos rectángulos, uno vertical y otro horizontal y los dos alineados centrados horizontalmente y hacia arriba verticalmente.

Then draw the C with three rectangles, one at the top, one at the bottom and one on the left, thus finally having the complete symbol.
Luego dibuja la C con tres rectángulos, uno en la parte superior, otro en la parte inferior y otro a la izquierda, teniendo así finalmente el símbolo completo.

Finally, I wrote the word TechClub with a camel structure and using the Source Code typography, a free-to-use typography that is quite seen in the area of technology. With this we get a simple, minimalist and quite elegant result for what we want to achieve with this club.
The rest of the work consisted of making the different color variations and the black and white and black and inverted black and white formats of the logo, in order to build a brand that looks visually attractive.
Finalmente, escribí la palabra TechClub con una estructura de camello y usando la tipografía del Código Fuente, una tipografía de uso gratuito que se ve bastante en el área de la tecnología. Con esto obtenemos un resultado simple, minimalista y bastante elegante para lo que queremos lograr con este club.
El resto del trabajo consistió en hacer las diferentes variaciones de color y los formatos en blanco y negro y negro e invertido en blanco y negro del logotipo, con el fin de construir una marca que se vea visualmente atractiva.
I was also able to design a small banner for the club with the name of the members of this season's club using the colors and fonts stipulated in the symbol that we created today, below I show it to you:
