Hello everyone, how are you doing, I welcome you once again to another week of the engagement contest, on today, I shall be dropping by my entry to the engagement contest theme: My favorite breakfast.

My favorite breakfast

My favorite breakfast is the Custard and Akara, or anything fast food related, but in my country, you get to access custard and Akara with ease especially early in the morning, this can take me till lunch period without having to worry about food.

A simple image of my favorite breakfast

Its a casual breakfast in most Nigeria homes, and it doesn't take time, the maximum period for making custard is 5 mins, and the Akara are mostly purchased from the food vendors, it has always been going like that for a while with me as I don't like waking up in the morning and starts cooking, so this is the case with most people too, have gotten used to this till the point that it has become my favorite breakfast for years now.

What ingredients does it include?

This is a fast food breakfast that doesn't require as many ingredients as you can imagine, as long as you have your custard powder. Sugar and Boil water.

Custard making requires;

  • Custard Powder

  • Cubic Sugar

  • half a liter of Boiled water

Step 1 - get your custard powder, it is a 2kg custard powder which cost 2500 NGN (20 steem)

Step 2 - Pour three teaspoons into an empty cup, depending on the amount you are willing to take.

  • Step 3 - Then you add 4 or 5 cubic sugar into the powder, then mix with cold water.

Final step - Set up water on gas, let it boil for at least 5 minutes, then afterward, you can pour it into the mixed custard, then it will turn out to look like the picture above.

Beans Cakes(Akara) Ingredients

  • Beans

  • Oil

  • Pepper and Onion

These are the required ingredient in making bean cake and it's quite easier as well, but just like I have said, I prefer getting it from the vendors instead of doing it on my own, as it requires special skills I believe.

What time do you have breakfast? And who prepares it?

I mostly have my breakfast at 8:00a.m, then I believe this makes things easier for me as I could quickly focus on other stuff, but sometimes I take it as early as 7:00a.m, especially in school period.

My breakfast is mostly prepared by me except for the Beans cake I do get from the vendors, as early in the morning, while boiling my water for the custard, I could go on to the vendor nearby to get my Akara as well.

What are the typical breakfasts in your country?

Custard and Akara is one of the most typical breakfasts in my country(Nigeria), then we could go on to add Bread and tea, Rice, then Yam and egg as well to the list.

Most casual workers tend to prefer Bread and Tea, as this gets them to have a light breakfast, then things could go on easier for the rest of the day, the same applies to me as well as I don't like taking heavy food while going to work or class.

So these are the casual breakfast in my country, and it's a certainty for them to be common in most Nigerian homes.

Conclusion

Here comes my conclusion on the topic Discuss Your favorite breakfast, where I have successfully shared with you that Beans cake(Akara) and custard is my favorite breakfast, this food is an easy way for me to go, it comes with ease and I prepare it as fast as possible.

For someone who doesn't like to cook as much, this comes easier, and it gets to be constant, as time goes on, I become familiar with it, and it has remained my favorite breakfast.

Indeed, from your post and the steps you have shared I will give it a try. Thank you for inviting to the contest. You can as well check what I like as my breakfast. Best of luck to you.

Yea, they don't really come in handy especially the custard, but with practice have learn to perfect the right amount of water it requires.
