Hello friends
It is a new week here, and I humbly welcome you here. I trust you are doing well today. In this post, I have discussed how dogs and cats live their lives freely on my street.
Yes, there are dogs and cats living on the street in my town.
Dogs and cats are the common animals we can find on the streets like mine here in Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa state. The people here like dogs, but they hardly feed their dogs or cats, which is why they are seen living on the street in my town, as you can see from the images above.
Well, I think adoption of these little animals is a good idea to prevent them from dying of hunger when their real owners cannot look after them. However, here on my street, despite the fact that people find it difficult to take care of their animals, no one can adopt them without hearing from the owner.
In a situation where one may like a little animal that often roams around the street, the person will have to negotiate with the owner to buy the animal; otherwise, if you adopt the animal without the concern of the owner, you will be labeled as a thief. I have never adopted a little animal before.
The solution to avoiding animal abandonment is to take good care of the animal. Feed the animal properly to avoid hunger because once an animal is hungry, it will start going out to look for food on the street, and wherever the animal gets food, that is where it will be going often.
What people should know before adopting a street cat or dog are:
Anyone who wants to adopt a street cat or dog should know that the owner can come for it one day.
Another thing one should know is that it's not yours; adopting without consulting those around you can put you into trouble when the owner begins looking for the cat or dog.
Before adopting a dog or cat, check to see if the animal is sick or not and find out the reason why it is on the street.
