¿Necesitas la aceptación de otros? ¿Necesitas el apoyo de otros? En algunas ocasiones sí, la necesito mucho. Se siente como que uno está luchando solo mientras existen más de 7 billones en el mundo.
Y mira no soy el único, hay muchísimas personas que han dicho que gracias al apoyo y la aceptación de una persona, una sola persona, les cambió la vida. Ya sea un padre, una madre, un hermano o hermana, tío o tía, profesor o profesora, alguien. Solamente alguien que vio algo en ellos y los hizo sentir bien consigo mismos.
Esa persona les hizo sentir confianza, les hizo tener fe y esperanza en que lo podían lograr. Les alentaron o simplemente les dieron la oportunidad de expresar aquello que ellos querían, y solamente eso bastó para que ellos creyeran en sí mismos.
Y ahora me vas a decir que no hay gente que ha logrado cumplir sus sueños sin haber tenido esa persona. Me vas a decir que absolutamente todos tuvieron a alguien que los viera y los hiciera sentir amados y aceptados.
No, por supuesto que no. Sé muy bien que hay gente que lo ha logrado sin haber tenido ese apoyo, y ellos mismos han sido su apoyo. Pero yo no soy como ellos.
Y ¿por qué no eres como ellos?
Porque no tengo lo que ellos tienen. Me falta algo. No lo siento en mí. Necesito que alguien esté ahí para mí, necesito que me sujeten.
¿Por qué?
Porque me da miedo caer y lastimarme. Me da miedo que no logre. Me da miedo enfrentarme a todo esto yo sólo. O sentir que estoy sólo. Se siente frío y no me gusta.
Pero tú sabes muy bien que todos estamos solos. El hecho de que alguien este contigo o te apoye, no significa que no eres tú quien tiene que hacer el trabajo o vivir la vida. Eres tú quien tiene que hacer todo eso. Solamente tú puedes hacerlo. Solamente tú puedes sentir lo que sientes, vivir tus experiencias, ser quien eres.
Solamente tú puedes aceptarte a ti mismo, amarte a ti mismo, apoyarte a ti mismo. Solamente tú puedes llenar ese vacío.

Because I don't have what they have. I'm missing something. I don't feel it in me. I need someone to be there for me, I need to be held.

Because I'm afraid of falling and hurting myself. I'm afraid I won't make it. I'm scared to face all of this on my own. Or feel like I'm alone. It feels cold and I don't like it.
But you know very well that we are all alone. Just because someone is with you or supports you, doesn't mean you don't have to do the work or live the life. It is you who has to do all that. Only you can do it. Only you can feel what you feel, live your experiences, be who you are.
Only you can accept yourself, love yourself, support yourself. Only you can fill that void.
