SEC S10W4: 5 things I want to do before I die

in hive-188619 •  2 years ago

Hello everyone, Welcome to week 4 of the Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 3, and in this post, I will be writing on the topic "5 things I want to do before I die" which is hosted by Comunidad Latina. Before I continue, I remember the sad event of the 5 people who went with the Titan Submarine to see the Titanic who are believed to be dead as a result of an implosion. I commiserate with the family of these people and as I write this post, I remember to say the phrase "Be careful what you wish for..." So let's continue with the post without any waste of time.

Everyone has that one thing or other that want to do before they die, and they can give it different names ranging from the bucket list, To-do list, Lifetime Achievements, and so on. These activities can vary from recreation, to travel, research, humanity, academics, and so on. They aim to achieve or have done these things before they die. For me, I have 5 things I want to do before I die, and they are;

  • Become a certified Medical Practitioner
  • Build a hospital and help give medical aid to rural areas where they do not have access to good healthcare
  • Own a Charity Organization
  • Go to the Maldives
  • Be able to Give all my Wealth to Charity

Why do you want to achieve this?

Growing up, I have learned that success is defined by your impact on society, and not what society gives you. This is why I have always wanted to be able to serve my community in my small way. This started when I was a child, and currently, I am still doing it. I remember being a volunteer during Covid-19 because I want to give to my community, and I was very happy that I was able to do so, although I was scared at the same time. Currently, I am an intern at NNPC Hospital, which is a government-owned general hospital, and I am using that opportunity to serve my community. I have learned that we are what we are able to give, and not what we are able to take. I have learned to always impact people's lives, no matter how little it is, and that is what the majority of my goals or bucket lists are about. So, the reason why I want to achieve those lists is to be able to impact my own little community.

Are you doing something to achieve this?

As an intern, I am opportune to learn a lot about the medical world, and currently, I just got admission to study Nursing, which is a dream come through for me. With this, I have made another step toward achieving my goal of being a medical practitioner which would help allow me to be able to build a hospital, and then achieve other goals in the list. Currently, I have a degree in Health Studies but that isn't enough, and that is why I am studying nursing. So, if I am to weigh myself based on my goals, I will say that I am in line with my list.

How do you to expect to achieve this?

The journey of a million-mile start with a step, and I have made that step already. The first thing is to get into the College of Nursing or School of Nursing, for 3 to 4 years, then I will get a Job, possibly at NNPC hospital or any other government hospital. I intend to save up money to start a hospital that will be treating people and receiving payment for treatment but it would have a wing that will be into Charity, and that is where my charity foundation starts. It will be focused on giving free treatment to the deprived, and physically challenged. I hope to give my wealth to charity but would be monitored by a trust fund. In all these, I intend to visit the Maldives at least once before I die.

It is impossible for you or do you think it can be possible?

One thing I have learned to do is set achievable goals. So my to-do list of things I want to do before I die is Possible. More so, there is no Impossibility in my dictionary. I am a positive-minded person, and I always keep that positive energy around me.

With this, I have come to the end of my post, and I will like to invite @lavanyalakshman, @faran-nabeel, @samminator, @okere-blessing @talktofaith @simonnwigwe, @preye2, @inspiracion, @pelon53, and @wilmer1988.
