The Diarygame Friday 28th June 2024: (A Visit To Ifiayong, Uruan LGA, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria)

The Day was seemingly sunny, how was the day going to be? This question ran through my mind. We had breakfast, and we discussed as a couple, but our day was still boring, what can we do to make the day an enjoyable one? We had no idea, but we knew one thing for sure, we were going to cook the fisherman's soup, our favorites. So we planned to purchase the condiments for the fisherman's soup where they are cheaper, and as such we were looking for a place where we could get the condiments at wholesale prices to reduce the cost. So someone directed us to Ifiayong village in the Uruan local government area, Akwa Ibom state Nigeria.

My husband drove me together with @goodybest to the village to get those condiments from the market. The distance from Uyo to Ifiayong is about 15km, which is 27 minutes of driving.

The market had all kinds of condiments for the fisherman's soup, condiments such as;

I was wondering the reason those condiments were cheaper at the market than in other places, I was told there is a river close to the market, and fishermen take these condiments directly to the market, so there is direct contact between the traders and the fishermen. Upon hearing about the river I was fascinated, so we decided to visit the riverine.

THE RIVERINE

It is just a small river, but an avenue for businesses. I learned that business people transport Wood from Cameroon and Cross River state in Nigeria to Akwa Ibom through this river. Therefore some percentage of wood used for construction in Akwa ibom state, Nigeria is supplied through this river.

There is fishing going on in the River, which implies some percentage of fish eaten by the Akwaibomite are from this river.

It is also a means of transportation, people can travel through the river to Cameroon and Cross River state in Nigeria

So we left for the house to prepare the fisherman's soup. We Ate this soup for dinner.

We are planning to revisit the village so we can explore it. I learned that the Ibom Icon Hotel is in the village, so we are planning to tour the hotel, it is a five-star hotel.

Do you still remember the question that bothered me at the beginning of my day, that is; how my day was going to be? I must say this was one of the most spectacular days I have had because I visited this village.

Ifiayong village is a village in Uruan Local Government area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The village has a market for fisherman's soup shopping, these condiments are cheaper in the market than others because of its closeness to the river that the fishermen fish. Goods, such as Woods are transported through the river, from Cameroon and cross river. This village is a nice place to be, endowed with nature.
