SEC-S18W6 | My travel destination in 2024 | Bangladesh

in hive-188972 •  5 months ago  (edited)
I am here to partake in The Traveling Steem community "SEC-S18W6 | My travel destination" in 2024 about my 2024 travel plans. I have several travel destinations in 2024 as I am looking forward to going and seeing the top tourist places in two countries in 2024, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the months of November and December this year.

Let me tell you, I have various other local places on my list before these two countries, but I have been to Bangladesh on an official visit and a short personal visit to Dhaka and another place close to the Indian border of Maldah, so I will discuss my Bangladesh trip in this post.

There are not just one or two, but many small places in Bangladesh that are best explored. Apart from the capital, Dhaka, and Chittagong, there are other cities where we can enjoy the traditions of Bengali culture. For me, holidaying in off-beat places is a different experience, so I can easily plan a trip to Bangladesh, surrounded by natural beauty, on a budget. That's right, I am no longer in a job, so I must plan my travel budget carefully.

I know Bangladesh has plenty of attractions that will give me an opportunity to have a variety of experiences and memories that I have been looking for a long time. I have heard so much about windy beaches, historical sites, and great national parks. It is home to vibrant cities like Khulna and Sylhet, whose rich histories, cultures, and architectural marvels.

Without further ado, I would like to tell you about my plan to visit the top tourist places in Bangladesh that I am going to visit in 2024 before going back to Australia.

What kind of travel experiences are you planning there?

I have been researching travel possibilities in Bangladesh for a long time and also hearing from my dealers since 1998, so I know a lot about this country, and I hope my workable knowledge of Bengali will help me enjoy the visit even more closely.

Dhaka

Famous for industrial, commercial, cultural, educational, and political activities, Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. It is famous among tourists not only because it is the capital of the country but also because of its many attractions. Dhaka, which has a large population of about 7-8 million. The place is full of old and new civilizations and the trade in paddy, sugarcane, and tea is done here.

All the facilities for daily needs are available in Tongi, Tejgaon, Demra, Pagla, and Kanchpur. Motijheel is the main commercial area here. The famous Sadar Ghat of Dhaka is built on the river Budhi Ganga. Here, one can see the hustle and bustle of tourists and locals all the time. I will travel by boat, steamers, paddle steamers, etc. to see the beautiful views of Sadar Ghat.

The area of Dhaka located at the southernmost edge of the city is called Old Dhaka. The architecture of the city and its inhabitants, who lived along the Buriganga River, are proof of the rich cultural and historical history of Old Dhaka. Ahsan Manzil and Lalbagh Fort are two popular sightseeing places in Old Dhaka. And if I find time and company, I will also visit Tara Masjid, Bahadur Shah Park, and Rose Garden Palace, as each place has an interesting past.

Sylhet

In northeastern Bengal, on the banks of the Surma River, lies the beautiful city of Sylhet in Bangladesh. Sylhet is a beautiful city that has all the beauty spots that a visitor can dream of watching in Bangladesh, including a beautiful harbor.

Gorgeous views of the neighboring mountain range, and vibrant rows of wooden houses. It is not hard to imagine Sylhet as one of the most beautiful fairytales come alive with its quiet, tree-lined parks and cobbled paths.source

The beauty of the lush green tea gardens and Surma Valley greatly increases the attraction of this place. Apart from tea, orange and pineapple trees look very beautiful here. Many Serbian birds come to this valley during the winter. Sylhet, known as the tea capital of Bangladesh, is spread over a large area. Apart from this, Sylhet is also famous for Hazrat Shah Halal.

Cox's Bazar

I am looking for the most famous tourist destinations in Bangladesh, and I wish to visit Cox's Bazar, which is located next to the beach along the Bay of Bengal. It has the world's longest uninterrupted coastline, stretching over 120 kilometers.

source

Miles of golden beaches, waves, high cliffs, unique seashells, waterfalls, pagodas, and parks can also be seen here. The main attraction of Cox's Bazar is the huge Buddhist monastery known as Agmeda Khyang, which houses several huge bronze statues of Buddha. This place is on my wishlist but conditional depending upon the local Steemian if they agree to take me to the places of tourist interest.

St. Martin's Island

St. Martin's Island is a beautiful coral island, also known as "Narikel Jinjira" in Bengali, which means "coconut island," because of the abundance of coconut trees here. The island 9 kilometres south of Cox's Bazar is a must visit place. As I said this area is full of coconut trees and sand and rippling waters. People in the subcontinent call it the Caribbean of Asia. I am a vegan but this area is also famous for its seafood.

Lalakhal

Lalakhal, a wide canal, is located in Jaintiapur in Sylhet district. The main attraction of this place is the blue-green lake. The only thing to do in Lalakhal is a boat ride. But the combination of the lush green hills and the canal waters will completely stun you. Sunsets in Lalakhal have a unique charm.

Chittagong

The population in Chittagong is nothing compared to major cities like Dhaka. Despite this, exploring this bustling port city is still worthwhile, especially if you are heading to the stunning hilly areas of Bangladesh. These stunning trails, which include the charming Foy Lake, are hidden along picturesque valleys, and Chittagong is often recommended as a starting point if you are considering going hiking.

Surrounded by mountains, dense forests, and lakes, Chittagong is a very good place for holidays. It is the second largest city in Bangladesh. It is also called the gateway of Bengal, because there is an international port here. Lush green mountains, far-flung beaches, and pleasant weather further enhance the beauty of Chittagong. Chittagong is famous for heavy, medium, and light industries. Bangladesh's only steel and oil factory is also located here.

Khagrachari and Sajek Valley

Khagrachari, which is famous among hikers and trekkers, is located in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. As well as the Teduchar Fountain, considered one of the most beautiful fountains in Bangladesh, it also has many lakes and small hills.

Bandarban

Bandarban is a city in southern Bangladesh. The hills and lakes here will leave you with lovely memories, and it is also a favorite spot for hikers and trekkers. The region is crossed by the Sangu River, and is home to at least thirteen different indigenous groups.

I have Nilachal Point in my plan which gives a panoramic view of the entire town of Bandarban, and a wonderful view.

Rangamati

Rangamati can be reached by a winding road amidst greenery. The real joy of beautiful mountains and natural scenery is found here. Rangamati, located to the west of Kaptai Lake, is also known as the heart of lakes. The beautiful landscape, natural beauty, lake, hanging bridge, ivory jewelry, and museums of the Chakma and Marma tribes are the centers of attraction here. Many facilities, like fishing, speed boat cruises, and water skiing, are available in Rangamati for tourists coming from outside. source

Kuakata

Kuakata Beach in Patuakhali, Bangladesh, is one of the most beautiful and calm beaches. Watching the sunrise and sunset here is really a different feeling. This beach is located at a distance of 70 km from Patuakhali.

Rajashai

Rajashai has been very important since the reign of the Pal dynasty. This place is especially famous for pure silk, mango, and litchi. Silk clothes are available here at cheap prices. I want to see the art of ancient times, so I have a plan to visit Varendra Research Museum from Dhaka by road. Rajashai is situated on the banks of the Padam River.

Kaptai

You can reach here after travelling 64 km from Chittagong. The view of lush green forests and blue water doubles the beauty of this place. Spread over 680 square kilometres, Kaptai Lake is built on the Kamafuli River. The nearby places of Chandraghon, Khagrachari, and Bandarban are also very good to visit.

Sundarban

Then there is Khulna, about 320 km west of Dhaka, spread over an area of 6,000 square kilometers known for having the largest mangrove forests. Sundarban is the stronghold of the Royal Bengal Tigers. Maybe I can see them roaming in the forests here that I missed on the Indian side.

source

There is a different pleasure in seeing crocodiles, leopards, deer, monkeys, pythons, and wild bears. There are also comfortable houses built here for staying. Incidentally, I have taken trips on the Indian side of the Sundarbans by steamer in the past, so I know what to expect at this destination on the Bangladesh side.

Are you planning the trip solo or will you have a travel companion?

I will start my trip alone from India because it's going to be a hectic trip, and my only travel companion, my wife, is not in favor of covering so many places in such a short time. In case @sur-riti agrees or has time, I might request him to come with me.

If you could take any Steemian as a travel companion, who would it be?

but I have a plan to ask a few local Steemians to guide me, or if they are willing to accompany me in their respective areas, I would love to request their company. For instance, I will ask @ripon0630, @pea07 and @pea03 to guide me when I am in their cities. I might ask @mahdisalim to suggest if they could find time for me to accompany them in their areas.

Share the estimated steem value of what your trip would cost to complete.

Right now I can give you a rough estimate of my trip because, as a seasoned traveler I know budgets work up to a limit, and then when you have such a hectic schedule to visit so many places and invite your friends to accompany you, the budgets are bound to go bust.

However, I can give you a rough idea-

A return ticket from Delhi to Dhaka US$ 700 = 3500 Steem
Local travel to different cities US$ 300 = 1500 Steem
Stay in budget hotels 9 days US$ 250 = 1250 Steem
Food and refreshment US$ 200 = 1000 Steem
Shopping US$ 100 = 500 Steem
Sundry expenses US$ 100 = 500 Steem
Estimated Total US$ 1650 = 8250 Steem

I invite @riopn0630 @pea07 @piya3 @senehasa and @josepha

Beneficiary @asadul-haque from Bangladesh and @null.

Dear, friend you have mentioned almost all the tourist attraction and beautiful places of Bangladesh. We would like to extend a warm welcome to you to visit our country. 🤗

Not all but almost all of the best. I have a ten-day trip and I would like to visit as many places as I can. Fortunately, I have a discount available on my next air travel so I would like to avail of it asap. Thank you!

I heard there are many tourist attractions in Bangladesh and it is much closer to India which would make it easier for you to travel to and explore the city of Dhaka. You also budgeted how much you will spend throughout your stay at the place which is so nice to me. Thanks for the invitation and good luck to you.

As a matter of policy, I do thorough research when going to any tourist destination and place where I want to visit because I have to plan my itinerary well in advance. I need everything in a planned way.

Wow 😯 you explain so many things in your post sir I accept that I didn't know about these cities from help of your post now I had few knowledge about these and the city building. I believe that in your post itself looks very beautiful and very different from others building they all have a unique structure. I think that it was a highly budget trip for us. Thanks for sharing this wonderful post with us I will also give my entry for this beautiful contest. Keep enjoying the day sir.

So true, as a travel blogger and a marketing professional I must know everything in advance so I plan everything perfectly. I have a foolproof plan of visiting this country and Steemions at the destination in my mind.

I have an idea to visit Bangkok and Thailand jointly, as one of our prominent organizer has provided for any tourist. However, with only seven days, I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to visit all of the notable places. Let us see.

I am sure you will soon visit your desired destination and have fun but make sure you inform me of dates before going because I am coming to Sri Lanka in December this year. I would love you and your hubby to take me to places in your city.

Really, you are mostly welcome my friend.

Thank you sir, @dove11

I did not know that in your post you have invited me to accompany you on a trip to the great country Bangladesh. Actually, I have recently taken up the responsibilities of moderator in Incredible India, due to which I do not get time to read many posts. I had seen the notification of your post, but after looking at the post, I thought that you must have invited me to this competition. I came to know from the comment made by @muhammad-ahmad on your post that you are inviting me to go on that trip, for this I thank him too. If you tell me the dates of your upcoming program, then I will tell you my agreement or disagreement on Discord.

Thank you very much for making me a potential companion in your future trip.

Congrats on being a mod. I suggest as a moderator you should read all posts that mention you because you might get special information that comes to you. By the way, no one mentions anyone for nothing. My program is to go in November or October which can be fixed according to your time availability.

Note- You might meet many members of your community in Bangladesh.

I know your country like the back of my palm but since I have visited for a limited time so my desire is to go for a longer visit. I hope to do it in November when the rains will subside and the weather will be favorable.

ঠিক আছে, আমরাও একসাথে সাক্ষাৎ করবো ইনশাআল্লাহ। অপেক্ষায় রইলাম।

Greetings dear friends @dove11,
The natural beauty of Bangladesh and the beautiful spots you mentioned are truly admirable. Especially Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Rangamati, Bandarban, and Sundarbans in Bangladesh are full of natural beauty, each district has its own characteristics. I invite you to visit my country and see natural beauty.

This is not a post just for participationbut my desire to wish Bangladesh! I have visited your country twice before but officially and for short durations. This time it will be a personal trip for which I am fully prepared. Thanks for your kind words.

Amazing you want to go to Bangladesh on an official trip is very awesome. The historical things make it more attractive. You want to go solo on the trip as your wife can't travel to so many places in such a short period. I hope your friend @sur-riti goes with you and you both enjoy it. I am wishing you the best of luck.
Stay blessed.

Thank you for dropping by and your feedback but there is a clarification. I am no longer working in corporate so this is going to be my private trip. I did my last trips to Bangladesh between 2000 and 2002.

Oh Ok.
My pleasure.
