When I look at the sky and am thankful as long as I have all this, this sunlight and this cloudless sky, and as long as I can enjoy them, how can I be sad?

But today I was not so happy because the sky was too cloudy, and that was enough to ruin our Sunday program. Our plan to go to the lake got canceled due to the weather report, but by then I had already had my breakfast.

Oh yes, I am on fruits these days so nothing cooked

I always want to be happy amidst the beauty and simplicity of nature, and I did the same today. I finished my morning work as usual and wrote a power-up post.

Many of you know that I don't write a diary, but as a moderator, after reading so many diary stories, it is worth asking a question... Have you chosen any special subject for writing your daily diary? Have you ever changed the subject of the diary for yourself or gone to some special places?

Today I have something special to write because today I have two kids who went with me on a mini picnic.

We had this picnic program at the lake, but the weather forecast said it might rain, so we canceled that program, but kids were insisting on donuts, so we decided to go to the Westfield Mall across the park. The younger one said he knew a shortcut, so we need not go by car.

At 2 PM the signs showed that we could go out so we came out of our house and decided to walk. We crossed the road and as soon as we saw this sign the younger one said, I know the shortcut to the mall.

So we crossed through to the shortcut through the nearest entrance. He took us right to the Woden Cemetery, and we could see the mall. We crossed the cemetery, which is spread over a large area, and reached the gate, but unfortunately it was locked, so we had to walk another kilometer or so to reach the path that leads to the Westfield.

We walked further and crossed through Woden Youth Center and now we were close to the Westfield Mall

By the time we reached the mall, it was 2.45 PM, and the mall closes down at 4 on Sundays. However, we could not find the donut shop they were looking for, so we entered a shop where they bought a few snacks of their choice.

We found no doughnuts anywhere so we came out of the mall.

My younger one had his idea of lunch as we came out of the mall and headed home through Woden Park, and then he showed us the bright red truck that serves delicious fast food, and he said he loved their momos.

I had seen this truck for the first time in this park. This food comes right from Nepal, bringing street food to Canberra.

Although I have seen a number of such makeshift food trucks in different remote visiting places in Canberra, this is probably the only one that serves Nepalese food and caters especially for children.

So yesterday, I and my kids decided, "Let’s go and eat something here."

Children have visited this place before, and they like these momos for lunch; they prepare them in Nepalese style, which are dumplings in my view. They ordered momos and a can of drinks each.

I guess in children this food truck has developed a loyal following of customers who come for the taste of this fast food. We find this cuisine in India but with a difference, although the flavors of this dish are almost the same, but it is not as oily or spicy as we find in India.

They sell Nepalese-style noodles, which is another popular street food. But as my kids prefer handmade chicken momos served steamed with warm tomato soup. My elder one says the chili momos are a delicious mix of crispy, spicy, and delicious!

I have not eaten non vegetarian food for the last two decades, so I had a can of Suncrest while the kids ate deep-fried dumplings with a deliciously sticky chili coating with a side of house-made chili sauce.

Thankfully, they have a different mix of pepper depending on your taste bud tolerance. By the way, my kids have no liking for too spicy, so they preferred it with mild spices and no chili.

That was all for the day as we took the leftover food and reached home at about 5.30. By the way, I walked about 8 km yesterday and my fitbit app sent me my daily report.
