Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope you all are doing well. Today I am writing about an intersting trip to a museum as part of task set by Travelling Steem community. Let's go:
Tell us about your trip to a museum or zoo. What's the place's name? How much did you spend for a ticket entry to the museum/zoo? Express the price in dollars and Steems. Which animals or exhibitions did you like more? State your reasons. Share your photos from this trip in detail.
Museums are places that tell stories about artistic, cultural, scientific, or historical objects. Besides their educational value, their recreational value cannot be overlooked. In addition to their role in research, they also preserve the cultural heritage of a particular place.
My visit to a museum in Jalandhar was one of the most versatile trips I have ever taken. The museum is named HAVELI and is situated in Jalandhar. The ticket entry per head cost 100 INR. This equals approximately 1.2 USD and 4 Steem. The museum is a cultural museum that represents the culture of the area. Let's delve into various cultural scenes and their descriptions.
Rotating wheel for flour
This one is my favorite cultural object in the museum. Can you guess what it is? It is a wooden wheel-like structure that was used earlier to make flour from grains at home. I remember we had a similar manual flour machine at home, operated by my grandmother. The grains are placed in a central hole, which then slip in between the wheels. The upper wheel is manually rotated with the help of a handle over the lower wheel, and thus the grains placed between the two wheels are converted into flour.
Women carrying water over head on a pot
Here I am standing on the left side of a statue of a woman holding a pot on her head. I remember when my aunt used to carry water in a pot over her head from a nearby spring. This represents the old practice of carrying water on one's head in clay pots from nearby streams or hand pumps for drinking or irrigation. When I was a kid, there were no water supply systems available for households; instead, there were wells, tubewells, and hand pumps, and people used to carry water for irrigation on their heads in clay or aluminum pots.
Barber shop
Look at the picture carefully. I am standing while my friend is sitting on a chair, positioned as if I am shaving his face. This setup contains old shaving instruments.
Old man with a baby over shoulders
This picture shows an old man carrying a child over his shoulders. It is an old style of consoling kids that I still follow today. In the past, grandparents used to be at home, and they would take kids in this position for walks and to visit different places in the village.
Scalpe check
This is something that I remember well. It shows one female sitting slightly higher behind another female. In this state, the female at the back would look over the scalp of the female in front and apply oil to her hair. I remember that my mom also uses to hold me like this and apply hair over my hair and also check for any dirt etc in head hair.
There were many other cultural objects there. Visit to this museum was worth it. As I am 31 years old now, I have seen all these practices in the past and therefore I was emotionally carried away by every spot in the museum. I really miss those practice and I wish that such museums must be constructed everywhere to at least represent and preserve the culture there as we can't preserve it in real life.

Gettings dear friend.
It was great to see the museum. The main thing is that I saw your pictures and read what you wrote and all in all I understand that you had a great time. Hilarious yet educational, but I laughed to see your pictures of her with them. How perfectly those images are created. Mother and sisters of the village The way brothers and uncles live. Based on them, the idols have been artificially made so beautifully. Very nice to read the post, I wish you good health.
