Contest | Best Trip Ever

Hello steemian friends, very happy to be able to share my travel story back on Traveling Steem in a contest created by @manisha.jain9, I would like to invite @dwiearisandi, @miftahulrizky and @fadia to also share their memorable travel stories on this occasion.

This is the story of my vacation trip with my colleagues in the office where I work, we have been making plans for this trip since 2022, at that time when we were sitting together in the work room, the idea came up to travel together by also bringing their respective families. We realized the idea by making a separate bank savings book to collect funds that we had agreed on Rp. 200,000 per month.

By the end of 2023, we felt that we had accumulated enough funds to go on our vacation trip. We began to determine which destinations we would visit, several choices of places we discussed, until we agreed to go to several places with routes that we had also arranged. Then in February 2024, the scenario that we had prepared carefully was ready for us to run.

Now the day came, we started our journey using three cars, each car containing two families. From Langsa we set off to our first and main destination, Mickey Holiday in Berastagi. That morning we gathered after breakfast, gathered in one of the supermarkets while buying some snacks and drinks to stock up on the journey that would take about 8 hours to get to our destination.

During this long journey, we did many things, from talking about strange problems in the office, stopping to pray together, eating lunch together to calming a crying child in the car. Long story short, in the pouring rain, we arrived at Mickey Holiday just before Maghrib. We went straight to the reception to confirm the rooms we had booked.

Later that day we had dinner together, then went back to our rooms to rest, looking forward to tomorrow morning.

As morning approached, the sunlight began to brighten the windows, and after breakfast we made plans. I took the kids to play in the pool, and they were very happy. They played together with other children from one of my colleagues too. Without realizing it, we played in the pool for a long time until the sun began to sting, so we left the pool and returned to the room.

We continued to play on the rides available at Funland, but we chose to play the light rides, since we were bringing the kids. We played on the Bumper Bee, Happy Ocean, Sea Carousel and Seahorse Racer. Because our goal was to please the family, especially the kids. Once we were satisfied, we got ready to pack up and leave the hotel, as it was almost 12 noon.

Departing from the hotel, we headed to a place that was also at that time an icon in Berastagi, Pariban was the name. In this place there are many hot spring pools, with different depths and levels of heat in each pool. But we didn't intend to take a bath, we just wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and the beautiful scenery. We sat down at one of the restaurants here for lunch.

After Pariban, we intended to move to Medan, we had booked an apartment in Podomoro which is also on the rise, because it is strategically located in the center of Medan and the facilities provided are also very complete. We arrived at the apartment around 5pm. The apartment is located above the mall, so to get into the mall, you only need to go down using the elevator. And in the evening, of course, we didn't waste any time at the mall.

This trip was certainly very memorable for all of us, because it was the first time we traveled together complete with all family members, and we don't know in the future whether we can organize a trip like this again or not, because maybe later in the future we are not in the same workplace anymore.
