Hello Travelers all, telling an experience in travel is always fun, that's what underlies me also excited to take part in the TS Contest | My Best Travel Of The Year held by @bonaventure24 in the Traveling Steem Community which is full of great stories.

Allow me to start telling my story, and hopefully you can share this journey:

My best trip in 2024

Approaching the end of the year, school children are also on vacation, the right time to invite the family to go for a walk somewhere, a new place that we have never visited, but we often pass by, Hill Park is the name, located on Jalan Jamin Ginting, Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

In addition to my family, there were several families of my office colleagues who also went, it was crowded, there were four cars of our group that went hand in hand, by starting the trip around 8 am after finishing breakfast and we limited the speed of the car to a maximum of 80 km / hour because there were many children and the road situation was also crowded, so safety was the main thing.

Why was this my best trip ever?

The plan for this trip was fairly spontaneous, while sitting having coffee with colleagues during office breaks, the idea came up to go for a walk together, and we immediately made plans on where to go. What made this trip special was that we brought along our wives and children, a total of 23 people, which is a great achievement in terms of travel for me.

We also rented a house in the Green Hill housing complex, which is right next to Hill Park, a four-room house, perfect for a family of four. Indeed, on this first day we scheduled to spend time on the trip, because the location is quite far, it can take 5 to 6 hours to get to our destination. So, we took the time to enjoy culinary around Medan City and also walked around the mall, while paying attention to discounted items.

This was the last trip in 2024 that was very memorable, it felt like a moment of togetherness, both for the family itself and relationships with other families, like an impromptu mini family gathering. The exhaustion of traveling was overcome by the laughter of sharing stories, getting to know each other and seeing how the children ate snacks together and played.

Special moments during this trip that I will always remember

On the second day, since morning we have been getting ready to head to the game arena, the children were impatient, especially Khalif, since he finished bathing he often asked "When are we going to the Hill Park?". While waiting for other colleagues to prepare themselves, I invited Khalif and his two younger siblings to walk around the housing complex and take some stylish photos. Oh yes, the mothers were very compact that morning in preparing breakfast, the menu was simple indeed, there was fried rice, fried noodles, fried chicken and eggs mata sapi. There was no doubt about the taste, as it was made with a lot of love and happiness.

After all the personnel were completed, we then headed to the Hill Park game area, a burning spirit adorned the trip, enthusiasm on everyone's faces. With a very short distance, we immediately arrived in front of the entrance gate and parked the car. We gathered at the entrance ticket purchase point, the ticket price was 120,000 Rupiah per person, and it was a one-time payment to be able to enjoy all the rides.

And... It was time for us to break through the barrier for Keenan, who had been crying because I was always blocking him, when he had been trying to get to the colorful area inside. After that, unusual moments were created:

  • Riding the kora-kora
A new experience, riding a ride that is shaped like a ship hanging and swinging, getting higher and higher, four minutes seemed very long, in the highest swing position my heart seemed to be left behind. What became my other thought at that time was because Khalif participated with me in experiencing the thrilling up and down movements, but Khalif was just silent at that time, was he afraid? I don't know ... he said he wasn't.
  • Riding a small train
There was a train seen going around an area that contained many artificial dinosaurs, I invited my wife and children to ride it because I was sure Kahfi and Keenan would really like to go around while sitting back and relaxing to see various types of dinosaurs around the train tracks, from Triceratops to Tyrannosaurus all showing off.
  • Riding the giant pinwheel
Slowly flying upwards was another sensation we felt when riding the giant pinwheel, where at first we were at the bottom, then the wheel began to rotate slowly but surely taking us over the roof of the building and continued to move upwards past the height limit of the towering trees, until finally we were at the highest position, only the wind accompanied us.

Did I have fun during this trip?

To be honest, it was a challenge for my wife and I to take the kids out to an amusement park, that's because of one unscrupulous person who often causes problems, I summarized some of the dramas that Kahfi played while at Hill Park:

  • Kahfi was afraid to ride the rides
As a result, we couldn't ride all the rides available, even though everything was free, included in the ticket payment, so it was very unfortunate. Even worse, besides not wanting to ride the rides, Kahfi also didn't let me and my wife to ride the rides too, at that time when my wife tried to ride the tornado ride, Kahfi came into the ride like a hero to save his mother, even though the round was about to start.

  • Kahfi enjoyed looking at the mock dinosaurs
Kahfi is very fond of dinosaurs, with a large collection of dinosaur toys at home, from the smallest to the largest. No wonder when he arrived at one of the mini Jurassic Park areas, he was very happy, this was the only place that made him very interested in this big playground, he was able to keep walking around and running to get a close look at each miniature dinosaur, while my legs were already aching.

  • Kahfi doesn't want to go home
Yes, as I said before, Kahfi was so excited to find his big playmates that he didn't want to leave. Sure enough, Kahfi didn't want to leave, we were all exhausted and the sun was getting hotter. We, along with three other family groups, agreed to end the fun and go for lunch, but Kahfi was crying so hard and ran back inside when we brought him out, I had to catch him and it was an electrifying ending.
