Hello friends of this beautiful community of travelers!! In today's post, I continue my story about my trip to Vienna. I want to introduce you to another interesting place to visit, this time completely free, a museum that, thanks to its exhibition, allows you to learn and understand the history of the city of Vienna, a history that is certainly not very recent but comes from afar. I visited the Vienna Museum, a museum that has just reopened a few months ago. It ranges from the Neolithic period to the 20th century, offering a journey that helps you understand how the city of Vienna developed and changed over the course of history. On the mezzanine level, there is also a restaurant and bar with a panoramic terrace, from which you can admire the square near the Vienna Museum. Honestly, I expected it to be a bit better, or rather, I hoped for a beautiful panorama, but it is not very high, so you can't see much. A very positive thing is the fact that, being the first Sunday of the month, you could see the temporary exhibition available on the top floor, an exhibition focused on the artists of the Viennese Secession, this movement of artists including the famous Klimt, which formed around 1897 in Vienna. In the end, I can say that it is very interesting to visit this museum to understand how important Vienna has been in history, not only in Europe but also globally, both politically and socially, but especially artistically.
There is a medieval collection, with relics and paintings that have marked the history of Vienna. Then there are maps and scale models of St. Stephen's Cathedral, and even a carriage that was used in the streets of Vienna, among many other interesting items.
There is also a collection of weapons and paintings from between 1500 and 1800, and some artifacts from other museums here in Vienna.
I hope you have the chance to visit this place and also the city of Vienna because I assure you it is worth it. I wish you a good Sunday. See you soon!!
