I want to update you on a new feature introduced by the @pennsif.witness team, which I think can be very useful, especially to understand where the places shared in the posts we publish in this fantastic community are located. So I invite you to read this very interesting post where the update is explained in detail: In fact, this will be my first post where I will also share the location on the map. I'm very happy about this feature because it gives me the opportunity to help you discover new places, but more importantly, I hope it will also help me find new destinations to explore around the world. I truly believe that one of the most beautiful things in life is traveling and discovering new places. Today, in particular, I want to share my exploration of the city of Bassano del Grappa, a place I’ve often mentioned here in this community. In my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful cities in Veneto, thanks to its stunning Ponte degli Alpini (Bridge of the Alpini). Let’s not forget that it is of Palladian origin, built by the renowned world-famous architect Andrea Palladio. But that’s not all! With this post, I’ll likely kick off a new series over the next two months: my reports on various markets organized in Italy, especially those festive moments that bring us closer to the Christmas season—a time of joy, peace, and, hopefully, serenity for everyone. Returning to Bassano del Grappa, I have to say that it is an unmissable destination. Thanks to its historical, artistic, and natural heritage, its origins trace back to Roman times. It thrived under Venetian rule until 1797, experiencing significant economic and cultural development. Unfortunately, it was severely damaged during World War I due to its strategic location, but thankfully it was rebuilt, and now peace and serenity prevail. Here, as in many parts of Italy, beautiful Christmas markets are organized, offering locally crafted items related to the festive season. And, of course, during these markets, you can also taste delicious specialties—especially the excellent Grappa produced here in Bassano. In fact, the town is famous for this unique liquor, though you should enjoy it in moderation, as overindulgence may leave you struggling to stay on your feet! I hope the photos I’ve shared have been interesting. And now that this will be mapped out, I hope you get the chance to visit this wonderful place. See you in my next post, and I wish you all a great week!
