Hello fellow travelers of Traveling Steem,

Today in Italy is Easter Monday, a deeply cherished occasion. As it's a public holiday, practically everything is closed, and typically people organize outings with friends or family to celebrate this event.
Today, I wanted to create a post in tune with nature, so I'll be sharing some photos I took earlier today, as I'm already back home.

Unfortunately, the weather isn't the best today, as half of Italy is experiencing bad weather, including my area. Nevertheless, I decided to go for a small morning excursion to a place about fifty kilometers from my home, Forte Marghera, a nineteenth-century fortress located approximately 5 km from the center of Venice.
This fortress is completely immersed in nature, and on Easter Monday, many picnics are organized within its premises. Frankly, I expected to find fewer people this morning, but it seems quite crowded.

Originally built by the Republic of Venice to defend the lagoon from attacks, Forte Marghera has now been transformed into a recreational area. It's mainly used by people living in the Mestre area, the outskirts of Venice, to come here for jogging or walking to rejuvenate and escape the city smog.

Before heading home, I wanted to explore a corner of nature that I wasn't familiar with, which a dear friend had spoken highly of—the Laghetto di Nove, a small lake formed along the banks of the Brenta River. Nearby, there's also an area equipped for picnics, but unfortunately, the weather isn't conducive to that today.

I took a beautiful walk of a few kilometers here, immersing myself in the flora and fauna of this part of my region. Especially around the lake, I spotted many wild ducks, and I believe it's an excellent habitat for them.

I hope you enjoyed the photos I shared. I can't wait to read the many posts you all share daily in this community. I'm happy that we're almost reaching a thousand members, but I'm sure we can grow even more!

Wishing you all a great day!
