Hello, fellow travelers! As I mentioned yesterday, there’s a second part that I want to talk about today, again referring to the FAI Autumn Days. So, this is a continuation of the post I shared yesterday. Today, I’m sharing photos of Galeazza Castle, located in the town of Crevalcore in the province of Bologna, about 13 km from the previous castle I posted about. I was also very lucky to be able to visit this castle, as it is a private residence and is not always open to the public. In this case, an exception was made, and the most special thing about it is that it reopened for the first time after the restoration work carried out following the 2012 earthquake that hit this region of Italy. It was a fairly devastating earthquake that caused a lot of damage and, unfortunately, also claimed lives. This castle has very ancient origins. In fact, the tower you see in the photo was built in the second half of the 1300s by Galeazzo Pepoli, a man who, after years of a military career, decided to settle in this area with his beloved wife to live a peaceful life. To climb to the top of the tower, you have to go up more than 100 steps. Inside the tower, a small turret had been built, but it was unfortunately destroyed by the earthquake and has since been completely rebuilt in steel to withstand future quakes. The castle was expanded in a neo-medieval style around 1870 by a wealthy gentleman who bought it to make it his residence. It was very interesting to walk through these recently restored rooms. Hopefully, it will be opened to the public so that people from all over the world can visit. I hope the photos were interesting, and I hope you can one day visit this very romantic place yourselves. See you in my next post! See you soon!

Hello traveler! 👋🏼 Ya estaba deseando ver la segunda parte amigo. Espectacular el castillo tanto por fuera como por dentro y como conserva los frescos del techo y las pinturas.
