Foliage Among the Vineyards of the Berici Hills

It seems that fortunately winter and the cold have not yet arrived in my area, but unfortunately, there has been bad weather these days, and I haven’t been able to go on all the hikes I had planned. Thankfully, on a few days it was cloudy, so I could take some less demanding walks.

You know how much I care about hiking in the Berici Hills. Most of Veneto has been completely cemented over, but let’s say the Berici Hills, along with the Euganean Hills, remain the only two places that are a bit more naturalistic.

I took a walk of a few kilometers near Alonte, a small hamlet of the Municipality of Lonigo in the province of Vicenza. This place is right at the foot of the Berici Hills. Unfortunately, part of this area, as you can see from the photos I took, has been deforested for grape cultivation, which has also harmed the ecosystem. However, I took the opportunity mainly to snap some photos because I really enjoy seeing how the colors of the grape leaves change.

They create a kind of foliage, as I wait for my next hike, which should be in the Lessinia Regional Park. As you may have noticed, it was very cloudy, and it was a very humid hike. But it was lovely and relaxing because, as you can see from the photos, there was practically no one around.

I walked a few kilometers through a much more wooded area, and I really enjoy when the trail passes through these more wild zones. By the way, I didn’t manage to photograph any salamanders, which are often found in these places.
