Who can describe the effect of Prayagraj in the form of a lion who killed the elephant of a group of sins? Even the ocean of happiness and the best among the Raghukul people, Shri Ram, had found happiness by visiting such a beautiful pilgrimage. Maha Kumbh will be organized on 14 January 2025.
It will start with the royal bath at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on 14 January 2025 and will continue till 26 January 2025. This time this fair is not Kumbh Mela but Mahakumbh, which is being held not after 12 years but after 144 years. This Mahakumbh is also special because the occurrence of Mahakumbh after 144 years is an astronomical event. There is hardly anyone who has not thought about the Kumbh Mela.

And many people must be taking Kumbh bath also, but does everyone know its importance? So let us know what is its importance, people go to Kumbh Mela in 12 years and 6 years, but this time after 144 years, Maha Kumbh Mela is being organized in Prayagraj in 2025. In Hinduism, Kumbh Mela is organized every 12 years at four holy places in Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashik. We can also understand the difference between Kumbh and Maha Kumbh in this way that Kumbh Mela is organized when the Sun, Moon and Jupiter are in a specific position, but when Jupiter is in Capricorn and Sun and Moon are in other auspicious positions, then the time of Maha Kumbh is formed and this coincidence comes only once in 144 years, which is very auspicious and divine. This event is called astronomical event, which makes Kumbh Mela special and turns it into Maha Kumbh.

Why is Kumbh Mela organized only at these four places, Prayagraj, Nashik, Ujjain and Haridwar? This question is also surprising. This happened because when Amrit came out during the churning of the ocean, the demons wanted to take all the Amrit for themselves, but when the Gods came to know about this, there was a fight between the two for the Amrit. During this fight, some drops of Amrit fell on the earth and these four places are the same places on earth where the drops of Amrit fell. Although the ordinary Kumbh Mela is held in 12 years, the Ardh Kumbh Mela is held every 6 years, which is held only in Prayagraj and Haridwar, but the Kumbh Mela is held in all the four places, only Maha Kumbh is held in Prayagraj. The 12-year cycle is called a normal Kumbh Mela and after 12 years of such Kumbh Melas (12×12=144), Mahakal Kumbh or special Maha Kumbh comes. It is said in the scriptures that bathing and worshipping in Maha Kumbh brings many times more virtue. It is also considered extremely sacred by the gods and sages.

In mythology, Kumbh Mela is also mentioned in the story of Amrit Manthan. It is believed that every 144 years, special energy or divinity descends on earth from the Amrit Kalash, which makes this fair even more special and sacred. It holds special significance for every Hindu. Apart from its spiritual significance, this fair also has a social impact which brings people together and promotes the feeling of unity. In the end, I am very happy to say that the person who will take this bath will probably take this bath only once in his life because completing 144 years seems an impossible thing.
