Hello everyone I'm happy to take part in this week engagement contest, forgiveness is a must in our daily life, infact if we don't forgive, our heavenly father will not forgive us as well.

What does forgiveness mean to you?

It means letting go of any hurtful feelings and forgetting it forever without holding a grudge on the person affected. Although it is not easy but it is good to forgive and forget whenever we are hurt because it is what our creator instructed us to do so.

In your childhood, do you remember your parents forgiving you for any mischief? Tell us about it.

Ah yes several occasion, I did something that leads to pleading for forgiveness. I remember when I wanted to iron my clothes, I never do it before but I really wanted to iron clothes. My mum insisted that I should not iron but I stubbornly wanted to give it a try the results was funny.

I ironed for some minutes and it was fine so I also took my sister's clothes to iron as well and then the clothes got burnt oh no! I really felt guilty and said had I known I wouldn't have iron the clothes.

Well, it was a new clothe so I was really down I went to my mum to plead for forgiveness and you know it wasn't easy because she tried to stop me but I refused, she forgave me and warn never to repeat such again.

Do you consider yourself to be a grudging person

Ah I hate grudges so much and as such I'm not a grudging person. When considering the blessings of forgiveness I do not hold any grudges on a person.

Letting go of something shows I really appreciate my creators great mercy toward me, the relief that comes from unburdening ourselves of resentment is very refreshing that's t reason Jehovah urges us to let go of any anger. Most importantly, we will find peace in our heart when we forgive one another.

Tell us a brief story or anecdote, where it was your turn to ask for forgiveness or, on the contrary, where you were asked for forgiveness.

This part is not common but as imperfect humans we tend to act or do something that hurt one another and in this cases most times I don't wait to be asked for forgiveness I forgive as well and move. And if in any case I'm asked for forgiveness I do forgive and move but it happens rarely.

I see this often in my married life, I and my hubby are two imperfect humans we wrong each other and we forgive each other. There is a saying "if you don't know how to forgive don't marry, if you can't forgive please don't marry, if you don't understand forgiveness please don't marry" so married life is full of forgiveness and I already know how to forgive and as such I don't hesitate to forgive because i must forgive.

We decided to stay United, we acted towards it and now the results is peace of mind

I'm always too emotional and I don't joke with my feelings I run away from being hurt at anytime. I remember the time I was preparing for my marriage I had a little misunderstanding with my uncle which he didn't want me to marry my hubby. So many things happened but I can't really recall because when I forgive I try as much as possible to forget what happened.

So I can't really remember exactly what happened but I remember we had misunderstanding, well I didn't take that to heart because it wasn't an issue it was a challenge and I overcame it. I forgave him and we are very fine now.

Conclusion

No matter how many times we forgive our fellow creatures, it could never equal the extent of God’s forgiveness and mercy to us so when we forgive we imitate our God and He forgives us too. Without forgiving others, our gift won't be accepted by God, our prayers will be hindered so let's try and put up with one another freely forgiving one another. So once you decide to forgive, act by taking the initiative and then release by letting it go.
