By holding it forever close to his heart, Zalran’s abilities will continue to grow...

And indeed it does, with every attack it launches on it's opponent, Zalran Efreet continues to grow. Drawing it's energy from the craft of hos own mind, the Puyo Stone, Zalran Efreet becomes more and more invincible as a battle goes on and on. While his enemies lie battered all around him, the prodigy of the Efreet Clans, Zalran, walks through the battlefield with the Audacity of a king, and the charms of a prince. His audacity came to light when he denied huge sums of money from the Torch to keep his Puyo stone to himself. Because Zalran was wiser than most of his clan. To him money was everything. The knowledge that he would be almost an invaluable fighter at the battle field, grew his confidence and he storms into battles many would have feared to step forth....

Yeah there's a bit of fan fiction, my first ever fan fiction. And deservingly it is Zalran Efreet. Since getting this card as a gift from @cranium, I've been heavily using it in a lot of battles it's relatively low mana cost and a good magic attack makes it very effective especially when I'm expecting my opponent to go in heavy with armour! And all of this is made great with Zalran's Life Leech ability! So it's lower health value does not always concern me as I know with every round Zalran's health will continue to grow.

One thing that does concern me is the speed is a bit low and there's always a risk of the opponent launching a heavy attack before it's even Zalran's turn to attack and the life leech ability is lost. So I had to come up with my strategy to counter this.

• I usually have at least 2 Melee attacks up front if Mana cost allows. So I will usually put Zalran Efreet at either position 3 or 4. The reason for this is that I don't want to put Zalran at the last position of the team to protect it from the opposition's sneak attacks if they use a monster with that ability.
• I also need to protect it against Opportunity attacks and I try to make sure it usually isn't the weakest monster on the team. I'll usually add Furious Chicken in my line up to protect Zalran Efreet from opportunity attacks in the first round as well as Sneak attacks by placing Chicken at the last position.
• Usually by placing chicken at the last position, it'll be out by the first round if the opponent is using sneak or opportunity attacks, but this will have given Zalran Efreet at least one round to inflict a 2 magic damage on the opposition as well as leech some life at go to 4 Health. Going from 3 to 4 health might not seem a lot but trust me, this is usually enough to help it survive another round and allowing to attack another time and again, leech some life!
  
  This is one of many ways I utilize Zalran Efreet in a battle. I would love to hear more from you guys, how do you use Zalran effectively. I'm still trying to gather as much knowledge from more experienced players to improve my game play so any insights into using zalran or any insight on Splinterlands battles as a whole is very welcome!
