Holiday Shopping Facts: A Tale Of Different Societies

The world is a global village with different hamlets and cultures. This is seen in the way different societies react to different seasons.

While some societies encourage people to buy more during the holidays through discounts on items, some other societies make people buy through their blood.

The latter case is experienced around me, where prices for staple foods and other items seems to add 30 to 50% on their initial price prior to the holidays. Some even hoard items to make 'huge' sells during this period at the expense of humanity.

While the society seems to be on autopilot, the clamour of people should be listened to by many governments, whose responsibility includes the securing of life and property.

The trend seems to shift to the Societies that give huge discounts for the celebrations. According to a Washington Post article, many people in the US share this sentiment expressed by one individual:

"The deals are just horrible,” Reeves said. “I’m looking at these discounts, thinking: That’s it? Never mind.”

What could be the reason for the developments? Is the world going into more debts or simply loosing its humanity?
