The first entity in the ecosystems Davis mentioned is Karura , the decentralized finance ( #DeFi) network that raised $100 million in crowdfunding prior to the Kusama parachain project . Karura raised the total in the form of KSM , which would later be deposited into the Kusama network to secure a parachain .
Another asset that will likely be successful in the crowdfunding era, according to Davis, is the Moonbeam Network , a bridge from Polkadot to Ethereum . Moonriver is the Kusama version of the project and acts as a bridge between Kusama and Ethereum.
