Every time after the end of each semester, especially after the final exams, I will clean up my child's books. There are simply too many books at home, and the space of the bookcases is limited. There is a bookcase in the child's bedroom, and there is also a bookcase that covers an entire wall in the study. However, even so, just placing the child's books already takes up two-thirds of the space of the bookcase. Not to mention that there are also books of my husband and me to be placed.
The books of my husband and me mainly include professional books from our university days and those used in our current work. These work - related books cannot be thrown away because many of them are very important. The child's books are mostly extracurricular reading materials, followed by some teaching - aid materials. Therefore, after each semester, I will dispose of the books that are not so important.
If we directly sell these unwanted books as waste paper, we can hardly get much money. So, several years ago, I joined four or five second - hand item exchange groups in our area, also known as闲置 groups. I have really found a lot of good things in these groups.
When I sell the child's books in the group, I can usually get dozens of yuan each time. They are sold at about 50% to 60% of the price of new books. Sometimes the books can be sold immediately, and sometimes it takes two or three days to sell. But anyway, this is more environmentally friendly and makes use of waste.
In the second - hand group, other parents often sell things that their children have outgrown. Some things are really very new, 90% new or even 95% new. Their children basically haven't used them much. Items like bicycles, roller skates, and some larger items may cost several thousand yuan when bought, but the actual disposal price is often less than one thousand yuan. This kind of situation is very common.
Two days ago, I also successfully disposed of the child's second - hand books. The areas I chose are all from several surrounding communities, so it's all face - to - face transactions, and the process was very smooth.
Moreover, through these years of buying and selling second - hand books, I have also developed several regular customers. Every time I sell my son's books, they will contact me immediately and ask me to reserve them for them.
It feels really good. Through the second - hand item exchange groups, we can not only dispose of the idle items at home but also get to know some people with the same needs. It's really killing two birds with one stone.
