Acting Governor Bustami Leads the Commemoration Ceremony of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in Aceh.

The commemoration ceremony of the 79th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in Aceh, which was centered at Blang Padang Field, took place solemnly and smoothly, Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Acting Governor of Aceh Bustami Hamzah acted directly as the ceremony inspector at the sacred commemoration of independence.

Present at the ceremony were Commander of the Iskandar Muda Military Command Niko Fahrizal, Chief of the Aceh Regional Police (Kapolda) Achmad Kartiko, Deputy Chairman of the Aceh People's Representative Council (DPRA) Dalimi, Acting Mayor of Banda Aceh Ade Surya and other elements of the Aceh Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). Also present were all Heads of Aceh Work Units and heads of vertical agencies.

The theme for the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia is 'New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia'. This theme was chosen because the 79th Indonesian Independence Day coincided with three important moments for the Indonesian nation, namely the welcoming of the new capital city in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), the moment of the change of President, and towards Indonesia Emas 2045.

Acting as the commander of the ceremony on that occasion was Lieutenant Colonel Kav Widhi Bayu Sudibyo from Danyof Kav 11/Msc Aceh Besar Regency.

Deputy Chairman of the DPRA, Dalimi read the proclamation text which was proclaimed 79 years ago by the proclaimer, Soekarno, as a sign that Indonesia had become independent from the shackles of colonialism.

After that, Acting Governor Bustami as the ceremony inspector led the ceremony participants to observe a moment of silence. The Head of the Aceh Ministry of Religion Regional Office, Azhari then guided the reading of the prayer.

Next, the Flag Raising Troops (Paskibraka) carried the Red and White flag to be raised. The raising of the Red and White flag accompanied by the national anthem Indonesia Raya was successfully carried out by the Paskibraka. The Red and White flag appeared to be flying proudly in the middle of Blang Padang Field.

The report of the ceremony commander to the ceremony inspector marked the end of the Commemoration of the Seconds of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in Aceh.

The series of activities continued with a colossal drama performance from the Iskandar Muda Military Command about the struggle of Admiral Keumala Hayati against the Portuguese colonialists. The drama performance was carried out by 605 actors consisting of 419 men and 186 women.

The actors came from various units and universities, namely the Indonesian Army, Indonesian Air Force, Indonesian Navy, Polwan and Police from the Aceh Police, and students from various universities in Banda Aceh City.

The drama performance successfully amazed the officials and the public present at Blang Padang Field. The various attractions in the drama were greeted with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
