Two vocational schools in Bireuen, namely SMKN 1 Jeunieb and SMKN 1 Peusangan, Thursday (12/19/2024) held the TeFa One Day Expo Job Fair and Tracer Studi Hj Fauziah Convention Center Cot Gapu Bireuen.
The joint activity of 32 Business Worlds and Industrial Worlds (DUDI) was attended by hundreds of students, teachers, and the community and was opened by the Acting (Pj) Regent of Bireuen.
The Principal of SMKN 1 Jeunieb, Feri Irawan SSi MPd said that the job fair and a series of other activities were to prepare students to be ready to work, even before they graduate.
The activity is also an effort by the school to provide services to students, with the aim of helping them explore their potential and prepare themselves for the world of work. The activity started on Thursday (12/19) morning and was open not only to grade 12 students, but also to alumni.
The principal of SMKN 1 Peusangan, Joko Triyanto ST MPd added, to enliven the Job Fair, the school had been spreading this information through social media for several days before.
In the event, as many as 32 companies from various sectors, including banking, hospitality, food, creative economy, and fashion opened vacancies.
Students are not required to work according to their majors. In this job fair, even though it is not in accordance with their field of study, students can still register to gain experience and learn new things.
"Take advantage of every opportunity to develop their talents. We support in all fields," said Joko Triyanto.
On the same day, students also received soft skill training through a talk show with speakers Qifti Reza Kesuma, ST from the Aceh Province Manpower and Population Mobility Service, Haryani, ST as Chair of the Aceh Province Special Working Agency Forum, Budi Syaiful GM Hermace Palace Hotel, and Satia Farida, SE from the Bireuen Regency Manpower & Transmigration Service.
"Soft skills are important to complement the competencies obtained in school, because many companies consider soft skills as the main factor for success," explained Joko who was accompanied by Feri Irawan.
The event was opened by the Acting Regent of Bireuen who was represented by Assistant III for General Administration Azhari SSos. Also present were the Bireuen Forkominda, Chairman of Commission V of the Bireuen DPRK, Head of the Bireuen Regional Education Office Branch, Rectors in the Bireuen Region, DUDI Leaders, SMK supervisors, SMK principals, alumni, teachers and students.
