Lockdown Mondays get me down. The day starts with the sound of conference call after call as my wife grapples with a difficult project. Somehow the morning drifted by and I made no progress on my stuff. So the first photo of the day is a cooking win
Started to prepare Chinese style pork belly for Mother's Day on Friday - defrost. Culmination is a perfect Thai style moo grob for lunch on Monday. Check previous post for steps to there. Cut in small pieces and fry in a little oil. Serve with rice and Asian salad.
Did go for a walk to check out some coastal maroonhood orchids growing in one spot only. Found these acianthus orchids on the way.
The maroonhoods are clinging to a 4 square metre area and looking good as they squeeze through the fallen timber.
Next spot for acianthus orchids brings a lesson the way orchids go.
Note that the lower flower is now closed. It has been pollinated. What the orchid does now is start to grow taller taking the leaf off the ground. That way the seeds go further when the seed pod pops. This is unique to orchids.
Love the way the mushroom pushes up with soil attached - photographer did not tidy up.
Banksias always look special in the afternoon light.
Pea flower is a delight - some detail in a small frame.
Doubled back to check out the sharp greenhoods seen last time. Bonus to find a spider on the back. I could not get around that side for a front on photo.
Extended the walk to a track I do not often walk. Caught sight of this grevillea not long after the split in the track
Met quite a few lovely people with friendly dogs. Bonus sighting was in this banksia bush. There were two rainbow lorikeets enjoying the nectar - they are both nectar and seed eaters. The bonus photo was when both hung upside down and fed off the same flower.
Nice touch to find a small vege for sale stand outside a house. I did not have cash spare.
Dinner: Went to Spain for a mini-tapas dinner. A few leftovers cleared and a bunch of fresh stuff. Was a yummy plate of flavours.
No trade action and the lockdown blues got in the way of Internet Marketing stuff. And Bitcoin halved and I was not trading
