🇬🇧 Coronavirus can be defeated if anti-contagion measures are respected, China is proving it to us. Excellent news comes from Wuhan, which has been the main outbreak of Covid-19 for over two months. The last patient admitted to temporary hospitals was also discharged. A new sign of hope comes from China.

Yesterday, Chinese President Xi Jinping went to Wuhan in person and announced that the last coronavirus patient was also discharged. Over 8,000 health workers worked in temporary hospitals, winning a difficult battle.

At Wuchang Hongshan Stadium, the last group of 49 patients were discharged from the temporary hospital around 15:30 on Tuesday. It was one of the first three public places to have been converted into temporary hospitalization on February 3.

"In our first week here, we were under pressure because it was something we had never done before," said deputy director Xu Junmei.

Between January and February the city, located in the province of Hubei, found itself on its knees, with thousands of people in need of ICU admission. Thus, 16 temporary hospitals were opened which treated over 12,000 patients.

At the Huoshenshan hospital, the first stop of his visit, Xi praised doctors and nurses calling them "the most beautiful angels" and "the messengers of light and hope". Frontline health workers have taken on the toughest missions, Xi said, calling them "the most admirable people of the new era, who deserve the highest praise."

China, towards the end of the nightmare

A nightmare that at least in China seems to be making great strides towards the end. The population woke up as if from a long sleep, in which unfortunately the return to reality proved to be very hard with over 3,100 deaths and almost 81 thousand cases of coronavirus registered.
