I had a lot of fun playing in the disc golf tournament today. About 60 people were playing in different divisions. It was very windy and a little rainy and cold at the start.
The big issue was the wind. It made even short putts a big challenge. In general, things went well but I turned one disc into a left-to-right headwind and it went into an unplayable spot. I got the disc back but it was so far down in a gully that I found it better to re-tee. On the second throw, I underpowered the drive with a more stable disc not wanting to have the same thing happen again and it went a bit short into a bramble patch. At least the second drive was playable, lol.
In the end, it turned out okay. I ended up playing a round that was rated a lot higher than my rating. It was not enough to win the division though and I came in second. It is always nice to win but I was very happy with how I played today and enjoyed the competition.
Next time I think I will be able to handle the wind a bit better. I was not expecting it to be as windy as it was.
