Lulu got to relax a bit today as I went out for almost 6 hard miles over on the Spence Spring trails under a bright and hot sun 🌞.
Lulu was tired today as she wasn't as eager to walk this morning and our two miles was a slower walk. At least it wasn't too warm yet but it would quickly warm up.
There were a couple of other cars at the trailhead parking lot (although I didn't meet anyone else on the trails). Lulu was back at home so I would be able to put in a harder hike.
The various trails are very easy to follow and thus are popular with outdoors enthusiasts (especially bikers) but I have become quite familiar with several routes so it was great to cruise along at a quicker pace as the trail twists and turns through the low juniper and Pinon forest.
There was a frequent cooling wind that helped keep me comfortable despite the bright sun.
The last mile was more of a steady ascent but was able to keep up the pace to finish strong and add almost 6 miles to my day.
