My Actifit Report Card: June 22 2024

As I'm writing this Actifit report dark clouds are rolling in and the rumble of thunder is beginning to be heard. Hopefully we'll finally be getting some much needed rain but for now the cooling wind feels great.
It was a bit cooler for a 4 miles with Lulu up in Granite Basin again. We had another fun morning walk with friends so Lulu was moving right along. We did an extra mile as I wasn't sure if I was going to take her with me on my later hike and our early morning start meant the temperature was still moderate.
The lake was crowded with families out enjoying the start of Summer but the trails were quiet and we met only one other couple on the route.

We started off on the trail up to the base of the Granite Mountain trail and from there we branched off to loop back around to the start of the familiar Metate Trail. The hike today was much easier that my previous since Lulu was a bit slower and it was almost 20 degrees cooler for us.

From there it was a great hike through the tall pines and looming granite outcrops. Not too difficult until the last mile or so which was a narrow and more rocky ascent but soon enough the lake came into view and we finished up with a cooling dip.
