It's much nicer to be exercising now that the milder weather of autumn has begun to move in and the miserable hot summer days leave for the year.
We all slept in a little bit later this morning but the extra sleep meant that I was much more motivated for my run. My pace was a bit slower for the first mile on the road and then dirt field before setting off up onto the climb into the Sierry Peaks neighborhood.
A couple of miles of up, down and then 2 more big ups that would crest overlooking the city several hundred feet below.
After that it was a speedy downhill for the 2 miles back home and a good 8 miles for the run.
Lynx Lake was very quiet and tranquil for our mid afternoon hiking loop. Just a scattering of people in canoes or kayaks out on the lake and very few hikers on the trail which was fine for me.
Lulu had a few splashes, chased one squirrel and had a good time as usual.
