Hi everybody,
Last nights report was meant as an introduction to the health compounder MIND.
I would like to go into detail around the idea that many (if not most) activities humans do falls within one or more of the following categories.
• Spirit
• Mind
• Body
• Special Focus
I have found that being mindful of how we human minute to minute at any given time holds the key to living a more intentional life where each aspect of health matters.
Many people live deferral lifestyles where they attempt to live a wealthy life by setting aside their health.
This, I believe, is regrettably a scenario that will not lead to ones best life.
Taking care of each component of health is vitally important. After all... what good is wealth when you don’t have the health to actually enjoy it?
During this pandemic where physical distancing and self isolation are the recommended measures... mental health and resiliency is more important than ever.
So how can we take better care of our minds...?
Here are some activities that I have been doing to keep my mind active and sharp:
• Emptying the mind with meditation. (Making room for new ideas and thoughts) [I am making time to do this once per. day for 10min.]
• Reading... or as I like to say... Studying. Study is one level deeper than reading because when you study it implies the application of knowledge. [I consider myself to be a reader so I have working hard to make time to read a book even for 15min. every day.]
• Writing. This is a form of active learning. Sousing out your own thoughts rather than just tuning into what everybody else thinks... Writing is a great way to think for yourself. Writing every day keeps the mind sharp, inquisitive, and agile so doing it often makes a real difference! [I have been getting back to writing for at least an hour here on Hive. Being here keeps my mind sharp!]
• Querying. Being in the practice of asking questions (even writing them down as they come to mind.) and learning to follow their thread to the next question is a habit I have been developing for awhile now. [Staying curious and interested in the world is important to me. I’m practicing this every day.]
• The Dictionary. Expanding literacy is what elevates and frees the mind for greater and greater things. Freedom and words are inseparable. [My goal is to learn a new word or delve deeper into a word I already know every day.]
• Connecting with sharp/bright people will re-route your neural connections around ideas you may not have thought of before. Open round table discussion on a regular basis can bring you to a whole new level. [Im doing this every day with a mastermind every week with my business and investment T.E.A.M.]
• Listening to Podcasts/YouTube videos by specific and carefully selected thought leaders. [I listen to about 2 to 3 podcasts and about 2 to 3 YouTube videos daily.]
So now... How does COMPOUND an activity for the Mind actually work?
I’ll get into that during my next Actifit Report!
In the mean time... I would like to know... Is there an activity that falls under the Mind Health Compounder that you do that I haven’t listed in this post? I would be very interested to hear about it!
Take care of your minds everybody!
