I vowed that any day with over 19k steps would result in a post with a story. It is quite possible you will tire of hearing of my family vacation before I tire of telling it.
When in Malta, you visit one of about a million beaches. Today was no different.
We woke up mercifully late and I probably hadn’t taken more than 50 steps before noon. Then it was time to hit the sidewalk.
We walked along the coast out of St Paul’s Bay towards the Malta national aquarium. That was not our final destination though. We were headed to the beach right on the other side of it to meet family for an afternoon dip.
In the summer, many businesses close down and people enjoy the blazing heat with a nap in air conditioning or a dip in the sea. We opted for the latter.
A nice swim and a cappuccino at the cafe and I am probs my as crispy as a lobster.
A little beer put out that fire nicely and it was fuel enough for the second third of our steps back to the town square.
The final third of our steps were spent around the boardwalk, grabbing snacks, picking up a couple keepsakes for our little ones, and meeting more family for dinner. It was a wonderful one for the company alone but it was a nice bonus to watch the sun go down over St. Paul’s island as we dined.
Only a couple more days til back to reality and the comforts of home. I will definitely drag my heels all the way to the airport.
The pics may end up getting rotated by @actifit but you get the picture!
