SEC-S13W6 – Let's talk about things that could improve the world

Yes, I have asked this and always got the same answer, to the extent of repeating myself. Maybe you have read my views on how to improve the world.

Let's talk about things that could improve the world. My three main points consist of the following burning issues, and I invite @ninapenda, @senehasa, and @mehwish-almas to come join me with their views.

1- Environment

Due to human activities, the temperature of the world is increasing, and change in climate has now become a threat to human life. If this is not taken into consideration and it is left as it is in the future, the temperature will increase to such an extent that human life will be in danger. Severe droughts may occur, sea levels may rise, and many species may become extinct as a result of all these natural disasters.

This is a big challenge for human society, but there are some possible solutions to deal with this challenge. Climate is the average weather of a place over a long period of time or over a few years, and climate change is the change in those average conditions. Human activities are the primary culprit for rapid climate change. Humans use oil, gas, and coal for domestic purposes, factories, and operations, due to which the climate has been adversely affected.

Climate change, forest fires, scorching heat, and cities sinking due to floods—what is happening in the world? When these fossil fuels burn, they release greenhouse gases, the largest of which is carbon dioxide. Due to the dense presence of these gases, the sun's heat is not able to go out of the earth, and in such a situation, they cause the earth's temperature to increase. So we have to pay attention to this on a priority basis.

2. War

It seems as if the world is a gymnasium, where every nation comes to strengthen itself," meaning that strength matters in the international system. What I meant to say is that strength matters, as does staying relevant. To secure a fair global order, you must have strength, because the strength of a nation is defense and deterrence, which are most effective.

Leveraging a nation's soft power and economic strength has become an aspect of strengthening the security environment. Today, the world will have to change its viewpoint by following the principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'.

We should forget the war and start working on dialogue and diplomacy. These aspects are the essence of our civilization and the character of our situation, and they are important for the entire world. Emerging as a leading global economy is a stabilizing factor. Peace is not an option. This is the only way.

3. Social Values

There is a need to make efforts in various fields to create a better world. It is a matter of sadness that today there is a decline in every sphere of social life. The entire world system is going through a period of unrest. There is hardly any country in the world where there is no tension among each other. Tension is also being seen in Asia, Africa, Europe, and America.

There is a race all over the world to increase military power, and as a result, the money that should be used to remove poverty and unemployment is being used in the manufacture of military weapons. Most people in the world are still living in poverty and suffering from the problems of unemployment and a lack of health-related facilities.

Millions of people around the world have had to sacrifice their lives. In such a situation, it is necessary for the development of the world that the money that is being spent unnecessarily on military weapons be used for health, education, and employment.

This should happen only when a good world order can be created. Today, the world has progressed a lot in terms of development, but many types of inequality still persist in the world, such as inequality between the poor and the rich, inequality between men and women, and inequality between whites and blacks. In this way, there is a pile of inequalities. Unless these inequalities are removed, we can't imagine a world worth living in.

We have not been successful in achieving this objective of establishing peace and harmony in the world and providing employment and health to the poor and sick people of the world. While the developed countries of the world have become quite prosperous, many countries are quite backward and are still forced to live in the medieval period. Therefore, to build an egalitarian, exploitation-free society, it is necessary to remove these inequalities.

The present scenario concerns the turn of global events in recent times—in particular, the expansion of the conflict, first in Ukraine and now in West Asia—and the failure of deterrence.

Do you think others would imitate these actions for a collective achievement?

I am sure those who believe in religion and karma have any importance, although this disintegration and extinction of life itself appear to us as the extinction of its pleasures. We shall have to trust in growth and not in debacles.

Continuous creation is encouraged through premeditated acts, which is why life is taken away through other cycles of continuous creation, determination, and intelligence. When a fruit dies and falls to the ground, it may seem like a simple thing to decompose, but it actually triggers a whole chemical process. In fact, it passes through disintegration and ultimately re-grows into a new, elaborate tree. This clearly shows that this is the beginning of a new and expanded life.

This, we accept in the end, is a loving, expanding circle of infinite mercy where we will enjoy the eternal fellowship of our purpose and the solace of a happy eternal life. We shall have to change our thinking to make this world a place worth living in.
