"We are not living in an ideal society, but that does not mean we won't strive to make it ideal. Change is the need of the hour, and it must be a positive change for the betterment of our surroundings. The areas in which we want to see improvement depend upon our level of self-awareness and consciousness in our day-to-day affairs.

As conscious citizens, we all would love to have the best, if not an ideal society, in terms of science, technology, finance, entertainment, health development, and sustainability, etc.

Every one of us dreams and deserves to have the best society to live in. We always point out some deficiencies in our day-to-day lives, but we lack the commitment to bring any change.

In our country, Gandhi Ji is known as the father of the nation. His sayings are wise, and one of his sayings goes like 'Be the change that you want to see in the nation.' So, we must have a vision and must start executing the plan from ourselves.

As a conscious member of society, I would like to see the following changes to improve the world. I'll begin with the field that I practice, and that is healthcare. Subsequently, I'll delve into other changes as well.

Healthcare Accessibility

As a healthcare professional, disparities in accessibility to healthcare were unfolded during the cold pandemic globally. Moreover, economic status is always a detrimental factor in gauging healthcare accessibility.

I would like to see a universal improvement in healthcare facilities in the private and public sectors so that it is equally accessible to all sections of society, irrespective of their socio-economic status. Poor people are still left at the mercy of GOD whenever there is a need for any medical intervention that they can't afford.

Reforms in Education

Our education system is so designed that our thinking is kept limited within the four walls of a classroom, and our capabilities are judged based on our performance in a prescribed syllabus. In such an education system, we become emotionless speaking machines that lack the skills to handle real-life problems. We are never made to think out of the box and are becoming champions with no competitors.

Educational reforms to promote a holistic approach to education, inculcating qualities like critical thinking, empathy, problem-solving skills, and global awareness, are the need of the hour so that we become capable citizens in the real sense.

In our society, mental health is stigmatized in such a way that people don't seek mental health care for ailments that truly deserve it, reflecting our level of education. The point I want to make here is that our education system must be designed so that we all grow up as educated and logical individuals, free of any bias and laden with a scientific temperament.

Sustainable Environment

We are so much lost in the race of competition that the exploitation of natural resources lies at the heart of development. We are exploiting our natural resources ruthlessly without bothering for our future and the future of our progeny.

We must start at our own level and inculcate some habits that promote a sustainable environment, like preventing water wastage, rainwater harvesting, promoting the recycling of recyclable items, using renewable energy, promoting afforestation and avoiding deforestation, minimizing the use of non-biodegradable substances like polythene, etc., so that a sustainable environment is promoted. These are some habits which we can practice at the individual or household level. We all, as members of society, must have a good civic sense to build up a civilized society for ourselves and our progeny.

Social Justice

It's not uncommon, even in the 21st century, that our society is filled with issues like gender inequality, caste system, racial superiority, religious fundamentalism, and what not. As logical members of society, we must take part in activities that promote a socially just society for all, irrespective of caste, color, creed, religion, and sex.

Tech-Savvy Society

A technologically sound society is the need of the hour in this digital era. At the individual level, as well as the level of government, efforts must be taken to minimize the digital divide and provide equitable access to technology in all sectors of habitation so that all grow together as tech-savvy citizens and thereby promote the overall development of a technologically sound society.

Truly Democratic Society

Most of us live within democratic societies in terms of our governance model, but our thinking is still not democratic. People are operated on the basis of things we should be celebrating like culture and religion. We must develop democratic thinking so that we can celebrate cultural and religious diversity. We must develop a sense of belongingness so that a society filled with love and empathy is developed.

The hostile attitude of nations towards each other has devalued human lives. Unacceptability on one end and aggression on the other end have brought nations to the brink of war, where human lives have lost their meaning and ego to win leading from the front.

Conclusion

Without giving sermons, I would like to conclude this task with remarks that a lot is yet to be done to develop a society that is perfect, and if not ideal, for living life with peace and dignity. A lot is yet to be done to grow as conscious, well-learned, humble, and empathetic human beings and thereby develop a near-ideal society.

Thank you.

Great critical content and the idea is to encourage the different visions and perceptions of the users, your comments you know are the cry of the majority, not only in your country, but in the vast majority of the planet.

But there is that part of the population that contributes to this change, we pass before others as fools many times but we do not care because we know we are doing something positive, look, even retired I still support children in my community, I do social work through a program supported by Steemit, it is also about contributing.

I enjoyed the reading and I join this clamor but also to encourage the contribution to achieve these changes, no matter how small it is, if it is seen and felt.

Nice to hear that you are contributing and for contribution there is no retirement. Good to see great people like you around.

We are not living in an ideal society, but that does not mean we won't strive to make it ideal..........

I must say that this, (should I call it a) quote above is enough motivation to get the change done. I sincerely appreciate you for this important and nice post with a lengthy explanation of where you want the changes to come from. You're very right because you mentioned all the areas needed for amendment and you explained how you wanted them to be. We can't actually do all this on our own in some part of the world, some people who take up this chance to make the change are often taken for mockery and that is a bad approach and aids discouragement.....
We all strive for the best dear friend, so the change must start from within us........

You have mentioned the right points and I must say again that this is one of the best post I have read on steemit Today....

Most importantly, let the change Begin with us.....

Applause to you for taking up the Challenge for making a change..

Thanks for sharing and good luck with the challenge.....

some people who take up this chance to make the change are often taken for mockery and that is a bad approach and aids discouragement.....

We shouldn't bother about others as long as what we are doing is right . Someone has to take the initiative of change otherwise we will never see the change .

Thank you very much for your encouraging remarks and feedback .

We need to appreciate those who has taken stand to do so!
Greetings

Absolutely true .

Hello friend, excellent presentation. I agree with you when you say that we do not live in the ideal society, but it is the one we have, now, we ourselves must make the necessary changes and contributions to try to make this world a better one for us, our children and grandchildren.

Everything must start, as mentioned in the phrase you quote, by ourselves, much wisdom and depth in that phrase, let's make of ourselves the best we hope to see in our society.

Thank you for sharing.

I am pleased to hear that you find my presentation worth. I appreciate your time and efforts to share your valuable feedback .

Hello friend, very true, we all want positive changes to improve the world and so that our lives in general are better, but for this the ideal is to start with the organization and everyone's availability.

Starting to take actions for ourselves is a good initiative that will have an impact to motivate others, from schools to health services.

Thank you for participating, greetings and blessings!

Thank you for your encouraging review .

Here you raised a very serious issue about environment.

It is very essential that with development we must adopt habits which help to sustain our environment. Here I want to add one thing that if we shift to plant based food and veganism, it could help a lot to protect our environment as animal agriculture is one of the leading cause of environment pollution.
Overall, a nice piece of writing. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for your valuable feedback .
