Introduction

We all have that special thing that we love, for some it is their new clothes, for others it's their new cars, what ever it is, it gives us upmost happiness.

In the following sentences below, I will write a letter to some favorite to me which is cooking.

Love Letter to My Favorite Activity–Cooking

Dear Cooking,

Every time I think about you, I get so happy and excited. There's a lot of things that you do to me that I can't even explain sometimes. Since 10 years when I started learning about you by cooking dishes my love for you began to increase.

Although I'm not a professional chef (even though I'm considering it), I get goose bumps every time I'm preparing a dish. What inspires me the most is that I can be as creative as I can be. I do this by trying out different approaches to a certain dish and also trying new dishes altogether.

After preparing a meal, I get this sense of accomplishment and satisfaction as I see that I have prepared something amazing and that I can provide for myself without having to look for food outside. It also soothe my soul when serve my friends my well cooked food and they eat it happily.

You always make me feel like I have just finished a session of therapy after cooking. The processes I go through from washing the raw cooking materials to cutting and chopping them, they are exciting enough. After a stressful day, you make me release some pressure off. You make me gain control of myself after I have been out of control during the day. At the end of the I get joyous creating something worthwhile.

By having that visual experience where I wash some of the cooking materials and they become clean and I throw the dirty water away, then also cutting the necessary things it feels so gratifying.

I always have the desire to cook as it is something I look forward to. It is not like In a situation where I'm forced to cook because I have no option, I always do it because I love it.

As a way of proving my love for cooking, I prepared a simple soup. The name of the soup is called Afang. It is a popular native soup that's prepared in our State. The materials for the soup includes:

Raw materials for Afang soup

Preparation:

I started by washing the afang and water leaf separately. After that, I washed the canda and meat separately too. Then I steamed the canda and meat each in different posts to make it ready for cooking.

While steaming, I began to chop off the afang and water leaf separately. Then after that, I put the chopped leaf inside a pot and then I put some water in it and allow to boil.

As the afang and water leaf was boiling, it was getting softer, so I started putting the canda and meat inside it, then I put red oil, onions, garlic, pepper, Maggi cubes, crayfish, and nfi. I allowed it to boil for 20 mins for everything to gel, before put the fire off. The soup was prepared and it came out fine. I decided to eat it with fufu.

Cooking has always been a special thing to me. It means the world to me. I always enjoy cooking when ever I'm given the chance to prepare a meal.
