Christmas yesterday and today

It's another day of the week, and I'm delighted to participate in this contest today organized by @miyexi, which talks about Christmas yesterday and today. I will be making my entry below, so read through it and drop your valuable comment, as it will be appreciated.

Indeed there is a lot of changes on how Christmas was celebrated yesterday and how it is celebrated today and I'm delighted to share my experience having spent a few Christmas which I have full knowledge about.

To start with, while growing up I noticed that people valued the celebration of Christmas so dearly because our parents ensure that they buy new wears for us both shoes and clothes and this is always done earlier before December because the rate at which things increase during this season is always alarming.

Aside from buying of our new clothes and shoes, they also go ahead to purchase meat mostly cow 🐄 because they contribute in a group of 3-10 to buy one cow which will be slaughtered during the Christmas period and the meat shared between them.

Also, they go ahead to purchase new things at home which will be used to decorate the entire house after carrying out a serious sanitation to clean every part of the house. All of these and many more is what Christmas yesterday looks like.

Before 20th December, you will see everywhere colourfully designed with decoration in house and the street and also cows tied in houses for slaughter. Seeing this you will know something is about to happen.

Growing up and few years back based on the current economic situation I discovered a lot of changes in the celebration of Christmas. No family takes the celebration as a do or die affair any long as they don't even care to buy anything for their children again or even buy cow which will be slaughtered that very day.

Now, all we hear is that Christmas shouldn't be celebrated physically alone it must be celebrated spiritually as well. Hence everyone must focus on the main aim of Christmas instead of material things.

These no doubt is a good point because most times we forget the main reason for Christmas to focus on other things but this period reminds us that it is important to always remember about the Christmas purpose.

So Christmas today is seen in an entirely different perceptive I don't know wheather is because of the economic hardships or something else. But my humble thought is that both spiritual and physical preparation should be done in the celebration of Christmas always.

So parents should help bring back the entertainment we enjoyed in Christmas yesterday and join it with the spirituality of today so that it will all blend. So that is my story on the topic under review.
